Yankees should really pursue Darvish in off season (if not at the trade deadline if TX is out of it).. He looks all the way back from TJS.

I guess you'd consider this good for Granderson.

I'm pretty sure the Mets are trying to trade showcase now which is why you may see Granderson Cabrera Duda Bruce and Reyes playing virtually every game and Conforto for the next 3 weeks may be sitting more than he should be.

I'm hoping we pull a 2016 Yankees. Trade the bad players who TC likes , and then make a run.

That way we recoup assets, but also have a preferable lineup, and have a chance to win. I'm not counting us out yet. Two nice wins the last two games. We need to make a run before the ASG. Get back to around .500, still sell, and then hope we can have a chance to make the playoffs.

Once Rosario is promoted, I gotta think this guy is our next #1 prospect. Plus FB, Plus CB, potentially an average or better CU from the left side. He missed the first two months of the season, so he's off to a late start, but he's pitching well. Probably like two years away from the majors.

I listened to the game on the radio today, but it sounded like Montero had some really nice stuff working. They made it seem like he had positive body language too, which is good for him to help build his confidence

Unlikely to happen because the NL is basically over and even though the AL is close nobody really needs a bat. The only team that feels any heat to really make a move is the Nats with their awful pen and I can't see the Mets trading Reed there although I've been advocating it for weeks that if they're desperate do it. The Dodgers Dbacks and Rockies really are under no pressure to improve and Milwaukee I think won't do much knowing the Cubs inevitably will catch and pass them eventually. I could potentially see someone like Houston wanting Bruce but let's remember, Bruce is the best thing the Mets have and all the Mets had to pay in a much better sellers market last year was a 2B who is currently hitting .240 in AAA

So the Astros want deGrom? Never happen but it costs 1 young stud on ML roster and two blue chip prospects and that might not be enough

I'd want Martes or Paulino, Tucker or Fisher and Whitley or Perez.

If they are willing to give up Bregman, it could be Bregman and Whitley or Perez, but I doubt they would.

The only other good start he ever had was also when the team was out of contention vs a bad team in September. I really think if the game matters or the team is playing well he won't pitch well. I want to see if the Mets win 4 of the next 5 and say the Nats and rockies drop 4 of 5 and the Mets find themselves 7-8 back come Saturday if he comes out and pitches well. Supposedly he's in line to get the Saturday afternoon start as of now.

Kudos to Clipper getting out of it, but Girardi got extremely lucky once again. It's infuriating.

Binder Joe strikes again, he has zero capacity for creativity and having a feel for how players are playing. He simply goes by the book and whatever it says to do, he does. He doesn't use his brain.

Looking far ahead, but we need to get Francona to manage the team in the near future.

Oh goodie, here comes Betances .... because he hasn't been overused the last few weeks. :sarcasm: Is this his like 6th game in 8 days?

It was the 7-8-9 hitters of a horrible lineup. Maybe Dellin should remove his head from out of his you know what. First he's rusty, now he's overworked throwing 25 pitches the last two nights.

Don't get me wrong, Girardi is horrendous but Dellin needed to show something tonight. Well, he sure showed something I guess.

He had a bad night but I'm more willing to give him a pass ... Clippard gets no pass, he's been AWFUL every night. Also Joe has no idea how to manage a bullpen.

The Mets are not trading deGrom ... stop! That would be idiotic.

If you're Sandy Alderson and you legitimately don't think the Wilpons will allow you to spend big this winter to improve the pen you absolutely have to at least entertain the idea. This team won't go anywhere in 2018 even if the entire rotation is healthy if the only bullpen pieces they'll have are Familia and Blevins. If you assume Matz and Syndergaard pitch to their potential you still have 2 big pieces at the top of the rotation for next next several years. I doubt it happens but I think there is a tiny chance it could
