I didn't watch Tanaka's start, but I read he had a great knuckle curve? Imagine if he adds it fully to his repertoire along that slider and splitter. I imagine seeing Paxton everyday will also help with that.

Keuchel still not signed. Would he take a 1 or 2 year deal? With CC starting the year on the DL/his age and Severino having some shoulder inflammation might not be the worst idea.

I could see him taking a 1 year deal and trying again next season. 2 year deal doesn't make much sense IMO.

Alonso hit another rocket off the CF wall. Kid can rake.

Still think they'll prob send him down to not burn a year. Cause that's their game.

Get below replacement level for 6 weeks, then tell us "next year is ours" after finishing 5 games out.

It could actually work out if Smith has finally turned a corner. Like if he can actually put it together, you buy an extra year of control for Alonso and get decent production. I'm wary of Smith, though. Been burned on him before.

Yeah I'm wary. But also, if he's really producing, do they even call up Alonso? Cause he's not playing anywhere else.

Wish we had the DH.

Yeah it's quite the conundrum. Smith thinks he can play LF but I'm not sold, at all. If Smith actually hits, you probably end up trading him, which sucks, because what value would you get for him? And can you even actually trade him without Alonso demonstrating in real games that he can hit, and that he can play even below-average defense at first? It all sucks.

Personally, I hate the DH, but in this specific instance I do wish we had it.

I'm reminded that Dom Smith will play LF each and every time I see him in LF

Each time. Inning to inning. I goldfish brain it.

It's not even 6 weeks. Mid April so closer to 2/2.5 weeks.
