Amazing deal. He's still a good pitcher. #3-#4 type pitcher.
I wanted the Mets to sign Gonzalez and think this is a great move. That said, if his ERA falls in line with his xFIP he's more like a 5 on a WS contender. Maybe a 4. Not a 3, though. I mean that xFIP has climbed steadily each of the past five years from 3.39 to 4.44. Same for SIERA. And his K/BB is awful.

Again, I wanted Gio on my team. He's a horse. Dependable. But barring a late-career renaissance/reversal of trends, his days as anything resembling a 3 are probably long gone.

Also, getting him on a minors deal is a f***ing steal. I hope you guys don't use him, he opts out and we can sign him when Matz or someone has his arm fall off.

Holy shit, that is a huge deal. I mean good for Trout--cementing himself as THE generational player here, well beyond Harper and the like.

$430 million and he could probably walk down a lot of streets without being stopped.

That actually sounds like a dream lol

I have a few buddies that are Philly fans. They already had him penciled in for his next deal. Was always part of the Harper signing.

It’s hilarious to see the spin today.

Betances starting the year on the injured list.

They keep adding up. But at least this possibly opens the door for Kahnle to start with the team and stick

We'll be alright when they do.

Just don't lose a bunch of ****ing games to Baltimore again.
Its a shame Frazier has not had a great ST. He has the all around ability to be an everyday starter. He should be getting reps in CF with Hicks going down.

Ellsbury will probably end up making the team blocking Frazier.
