Yeah Jeets! Yeah Jeets! LOL.

Glad the Metsies pulled it out. Granderson and Wright really need to get their **** together soon though.

I'm one of the few Yankees fans that doesn't seem to mind the Mets at all, but this is what Grandy is. If he's not hitting homers, he's not hitting. He's a 230 - 240 guy at this point.

I know it probably seems cliche, but I was so happy they let him go. He's akin to Dave Kingman batting at this point.

Oh I get it, I know what he is. But at the moment he's hitting .146 with an OPS of .603. Unless he's suffered a sudden case of Jason Bay-itis, he's better than that.

Well he's better than that and once he laces a few homers together the average will jump up. But there will be stretches where he does absolutely nothing and this is one of them.

I didn't realize it was that bad. Still this isn't THAT shocking. He'll go through more then one stretch like this and will likely finish at 220 - 230. Two seasons ago with the Yanks he was hovering around the 200 mark all season until his end of year "breakout" which drove him up to a slightly more respectable 230 ish.

Honestly, in recent memory, he is one of the most frustrating players to watch.

I didn't love the signing by the Mets but I guess they had to do something. Still, I think they would have been much better off going after Drew/Saltalammachia, and a few other guys that were out there.

I know they got spurned by Peralta (or wouldn't come up to his number) but allocating so much of their "spending money" to Granderson was not the right move IMO.

It's not worth trying to convince him. Jeter looks great so far for what he's gone through. His last full season was absolutely superb. Last season was a mess, but it's the first time he's ever had anything like that in his career. I don't expect him to hit 330 this year, but if he hits 270-280, he is miles better then anything else we would have had at SS. His start this season has been extremely promising.

On another note, I'm going to the Yanks game tonight at 8PM. Driving their from LI. What is a legitimate time I should leave. Would 7PM be OK?

He is hitting the ball hard, don't see too many of those weak grounders, and he is running well, can't ask for anything more.

Going to the game tonight? Awesome! I would give yourself at least an hour and a half. There might be Sunday traffic, beautiful day today so people might be coming or going from where they are. I live in westchester so am a train ride from the stadium, but traveling on the LIE and cross bronx can be a nightmare.

Thanks! First of the year. I also have tickets to weds game and Rangers playoff tickets, so was super happy that the games won't conflict.

Agreed on all points about Jeter. Honestly, I have no idea how anyone can be disappointed in his start thus far. There's a handful of bones to pick with this team, but so far, Jeter isn't one of them. Sabathia on the other hand, lol.

Yeah whats up with CC? :shakehead

But yeah good that you are going tonight, Jeter will be playing. I think Giradi got some heat for resting him yesterday, I don't blame Giradi, every player needs to get days off, not just Derek Jeter, it's a looooooooooong season.

Former Mets OFer Mike Cameron's son is a good shot to go 1st overall in that draft.

Cameron had all the physical tools to be a star. Great defensively. When he was on his game he'd be lethal at the plate too. He hit 4 hrs in a game once, and 3 in a couple of others, too.

He'd psych himself out though. If he was in a slump, it would be prolonged. His batting averages tended to be lower than he should have been hitting and he went down as an inconsistent- average ball player, when his ceiling was so much higher.

3 out of 4!!

Game was great! Fans were pumped, total sellout, exciting plays in the field and at bat. It was how baseball should be.

would have liked to see Jeter but hoping he's back in the lineup weds and that some of our other guys can get/stay healthy.

Sorry you did not get to see Jeter. Giradi is just giving him extra time, I guess it's just a per-caution thing since no tests are scheduled.
