Mitch Marner "waiting for something good from you" edition part III

agreed, but I mean a personal friendship is a personal friendship who cares? This is the kind of the thing that irks me about this place (HF Boards). What does it matter to you as a fan, what type of clothes they wear or who they are friends with or what they do when they are at home? Really only thing that should matter is on ice product.

How do you explain Joe Thorton‘s comments then what is he just joking
 
I think we will obviously lose any Marner trade we make, but it's easy to see he is checked out and this relationship with Toronto has run it's course.

We have a chance to give him a fresh start and we can recoup cap space, picks, and a player or two.

I think it's a win/win.

Add in the fact that this is probably not the time to be demanding certain long standing rules to be thrown out. If they were winning and producing results it might mitigate the bumpy look. If they worked in a school or law firm or many other jobs they would be sent home for inappropriate apparel.
The fan base is so upset with them right now why would they throw the power they hold over Dubas and Shanny in the fans face. Just one more example or poor decisions by some very unlikable athletes

It really tells you who is in charge of the organization...some of the players are, and that's a big problem.
 
The power play should always be ice time for performance.

PP2 playing well, give them more.

Marner goes the entire last season without a power play goal .....

nothing happens.

My point was I think Mitch's play should result in a temporary demotion. That appeared to be the standard for Nylander atleast when he was struggling to produce.

I don't believe that but maybe it's true. Different players/people respond to different approaches. Marner obviously has no confidence now, demoting him IMO, won't help that. Nylander at times could look disinterested, demotion seemed to give him a wake up call.

IMO, if you're second PP has Engvall on it you should just ride one unit.

Marner is so soft he can't handle the punishment. You have to know the players.

My son responds to discipline, my daughter melts.

Marner is like my daughter except not as tough.

Oh boy these coaches are pretty useless .. lets go with Rielly and Mitch with their 2 muffin shots in 2 of 3 shooting positions .. guess what happens again .. 1 guy covers Matty and he is taken out again .. but who cares cause we like Mitch and Rielly wasting shots in our PP time

I actually think a demotion could help Marner at the moment, 5v5 and special teams

Get him away from the other teams better defensive players and have him on lines where the other players defer and are looking to him to create

Almost force him to take control of the game

I suppose that's one way of looking at it.. They're the ones who know what makes Mitch tick, not me.

I think Sandin permanently blew his chances of being on PP1 last night with that stunning lack of foot speed.
