The ghost of Punch can kiss my butt. The 60s leafs won in spite of him, not because of him.

That was Punch who coached the Leafs in the 60s. The ghost of Punch coached from 79 to 81 and under him, the Leafs didn't fare so well.

Part of the problem was that he brought in the ghost of Carl Brewer who hadn't played in the NHL for 6 years to play on defence. He also traded away some of our best players, including the legendary Darryl Sittler (who still holds one of the very few scoring records that even Gretzky couldn't touch) for a bag of pucks.

Those were the days my friend, they were such a nightmare it seemed like they would never end. Come to think of it, I'm not sure they have ended. I mean I thought so for a brief time in 93 but now, I realize I may have been wrong.

I would love the players to hate Keefe and Dubas and Shanny if they could win a few rounds or a cup or 4. I care about the team winning not whether they love the coach or GM.
The approach of love, respect and overpaying has proven not to be effective to-date. In the end if it wins us a cup I will be happy....but Punch won 4.

They said it on the the broadcast the other night. If you want proof you could watch the games and pay attention like the rest of us. Unless you think the broadcast is just a platform for conspiracy theories.
