Mitch Marner "waiting for something good from you" edition part III

I want him the sjate hard and be in shape. When he skates hard and quivk his arms and stick are still. When he plays lazy and out of shape his stick sbf arms flail...watch.
I want nothing more for him to play like a top winger, score 90 points and show up when his girl friend tells him becareful. It is his skating at speed and quickness that makes him special and able to see the ice so well. Let's watch the Boston game and then comment.

So I bad mouthed Marner enough, finally he played part of a game. Don't think he skates hard enough and did not see the ice in last 5 or 6 min.
Nice goal now do it at full speed....when you can make the other team fear you and back up the d and stop the pinching from all the other teams.
Hope he can do the same when he faces a team from Boston.

So you thought 3, 4.2MM players replacing Marner and 2 other forwards would be a massive haul and an improvement on the team?

I don't think the term "massive haul" applies. I was thinking more along the lines of a "fair trade" that yes, makes us a better team in the end.

How many kicks at the can do you take before you decide to change the mix is the question. I would have been fine with saying time to try something new last summer. And it's nothing against Marner, it's just that Tavares can't be moved, Nylander in the playoffs was phenomenal and has a much smaller cap hit and Matthews is the franchise so Marner is really the only impact player that makes sense to move.

I said a few years ago that Marner was my new favourite player (was Kadri before) but you know what, I was fine with moving Kadri and I'm fine with moving Marner or anyone else because it's the team that I really care about.

I have to admit I'm a bit confused with your stance on Marner. I mean I know you're one of his biggest fans, not confused about that but I believe I remember you saying that he actually played great in the playoffs despite not putting up points. But then again, I think you also said that because he got too much ice time, he was burnt out and that's why didn't play that well. That seems like a contradiction so which is it?

glad to be at that game last night...was a good one to watch live.

Spezza is a freaking beast...every time he was on the ice I just watched him....he's completely playing at a higher level than the rest of the players.

Matthews looked good ... finally.

If you are ever at a game, watch minnie mouse for a full shift. Watch him when his not directly in the play.

It's something else. At one point, while the play was going, he was staring into the stands...like a little kid playing in the outfield picking grass.

I hope he can get his head FULLY back into the game!

For 10.5M we should expect more. Holl looks the same and is being dealt with. This is pro hockey. Come prepared.

I’m happy to see Marner start playing well again. However I do still believe we’ll need to move on from him (since JT isn’t going anywhere with his NMC) in order to re-sign others and build a more balanced team.

LOL I definitely remember this too. He said that Sheldon Keefe should be blamed for Marner's lack of production because he got overplayed during a 56 game season and was fatigued when the playoffs came and he also said Marner played great and underproduced because his linemates couldn't finish any of his amazing passes.
