Don't you guys see Marner raking in his endorsement $$$ money during the offseason.

Usually in the 3rd period during these playoff game I see him come on during commercials selling Life insurance and other things.

This is fantastic hockey related stuff to bring up.

Rewatch Matthews and Tavares goals... I just did and players I noticed alot were Rielly and Hyman. Many goals are caused by Hyman forechecking like a mad man and creating turn overs.

Imagine being this upset that someone has a life outside of their profession.

He has a high-profile profession and one that will be scrutinized more than other professions. Indirectly, the fans pay his salary so we have an interest in our investment. Watching him post pictures of himself on vacation is a disrespect to those fans who were genuinely hurt by his team's extraordinary loss in the first round of the playoffs. You may say he doesn't owe the fans anything, but I say he does. He shoved his wealth in the face of all those who can't go on vacation at this time by posting that pic. Once again, immature kid who just doesn't get it.

And this my friends, is why so many people think Marner doesn't give a crap about winning. The day after the presser where he said he wouldn't change a thing about his preparation to do better next year, he was reportedly seen golfing. Now he's on vacation smiling like a cheshire cat while Leafs fans still do a slow burn about his effort during the playoffs. He's an immature, petulent, selfish kid. Some posters just gotta admit that he just doesn't care as much as they think he does.

Yeah, he could have waited until July or August to post a picture like that. Not in the middle of the playoffs, especially with the Habs doing what they're doing. It really does show a lack of awareness.

Your defense of Marner is just as ludicrous. His contract is justifiably worth condemning. Marner may think he's a Kane comparable but he is absolutely not with that laughable shot of his. Now matter how good a playmaker is, you gotta expect more performance for 11M cap.

Matthews deserves criticism, yes, so don't rebutte with that garbage deflection.

Eating crow will only happen during playoffs so you better not expect your bs during regular season lol.

I can take or leave Marner. It is his contract, the negotiations and Dubas giving it to him that irk me most. It is why I am more on the fire Dubas bandwagon.

But you seem to take all criticism of Marner personally. What gives with that ??

While I agree Hyman isn't blessed with the skills of a top liner, it wasn't always him dumping the puck. I can't count the number of times 34 & 16 tossed the puck into the corner and basically told Hyman to go "fetch".

Marner deserves all the criticism he's getting. He signed that 11M contract so he should get criticized when he doesn't live up to it. Leaf fans deserve better than what we saw out of his playoff choke and at the very least we can criticize him about it.

I believe your position against my argument that Marner has outperformed kane in the first two years of their rfa contracts were that you didnt know what kane did in his first two years. Matthews has the size, physicality and overall skillset that is far more likely to translate than Marner.

I actually said a similar thing about Nylander/Marner last year after the Columbus series and Nylander proved to be way better than Marner in this year's playoffs.

Can you explain how him producing in the future makes his lack of production in the past acceptable? This season was our best chance at winning a cup since the early 2000,s.. its gone and our roster will likely get weaker next season.

People cheering him on in the future are fans forgiving and moving on.... not eating crow.
