Nylander pissed off everyone in game 4 and followed it up by being our best offensive forward since. The 7 points in last 3 games is actually low compared to what he's been generating. Could easily be in the double digits.

Need Marner to do the same. In the spotlight for a very bad sequence that cost us the game. Not the sole reason (If Matthews doesn't fall he can stick check/backcheck when it gets picked, Campbell checked out of the game when Hagel brought it in etc) but he's a significant reason the game ended on that shift. Shares majority of the blame.

Remain unphased like Nylander, don't get in your head and follow up that sequence by reminding everyone why you're a tier ahead of the rest of the players on the team not named Matthews.

He is over thinking again. He just needs to keep it simple and that’s when he is at his best.
When he tried to stick handle Vas in OT, I was like, just shoot bc Bunting was in front and he was ready to bang in any rebounds.
Not going to comment on the last play bc it happens and had to give credits to TB for that.

Criticism is fine, some are making good points. What I find amusing, posters who virtually disappeared when they couldn’t jump on Mitch suddenly back here. Loser human beings is really the only thing I’m gleaming.

Shoot Mitch, go to the net, simplify.

Edit:
Heres hoping we get the best version of Marner tomorrow, we need it.... this is our best chance at a cup.

Oh man, you've switched back to hater again, so soon? I guess that you can always be right if you constantly change your opinion.
You're trying so hard to pick a fight with me, what's your problem?

Like I said, clean slate for everyone tomorrow night. If you want to bitch about someone, why don't you go bitch to people who are all over Marner right now (and that's not me). All our stars have been on and off this series but overall, they've all been good, now hopefully they can all be good together in the same game.

Hater is such a stupid term, the more you use it the less respect I have for your posts. And as far as "changing my opinion" goes, player evaluations are always changing from year to year so if your opinions aren't changing along with them, what the hell are you doing anyway? If you pick the players you like and the players you don't and never change your opinion then you're just not being objective. I on the other hand, I always try to be objective and if a player isn't playing great I will say so and if they pick up their game, I'm more happy to give them credit for doing so. As far as Marner goes I view him the same as everyone else - I need you to perform in the playoffs when it really matters. What good is all that talent if it doesn't help us have success in the playoffs? I unlike some other people don't give a flying f*** about having "the best month ever" in November or about this being "the best Leaf team ever", I just don't. Maybe you feel differently and that's fine but I more than anything else want to win in the playoffs and for the last few years his production just hasn't been there in the playoffs, that's a simple fact. The last few months of the season however he was playing the best hockey of his career and I was more than happy to say so. That seemed to trigger you for some reason and again, not sure what your problem is. OMG, I'm adjusting my opinion of Marner, how freaking horrible of me, like seriously? I had high hopes that he would carry it over to the playoffs (finally) and the first few games he did. Now he hasn't been as effective last few games but in case you haven't noticed, I (unlike some other people) haven't said one bad word about him.

Not sure why you want to constantly pick a fight with me but I will humbly suggest you that you give it a rest. I'll say it again, everyone gets a clean slate going into tomorrow night. I'll give you a clean slate as well and forget about all your nonsense if you smarten up, how's that?

This will be the most important game we've played in almost 20 years and we need everyone to be ready. We've played like crap in game 7's for a number of years now, I hope it will be different this time and I do believe it will be.

GLG!!!!!

Dude. I'm not picking a fight with you and you're not just subtly changing your opinion. You're emotionally flip flopping, now, almost daily. It's like you're bi-polar (not that there's anything wrong with that). You really just seem to love Marner when they win and hate him when they lose and somehow think that "cleaning the slate" erases the things that you've said in the past. It doesn't.

This is a steaming pile of nonsense. Considering you regularly go out of your way to attack anything I say about Marner, it's obvious that you're the one who's emotional here. He's just one of many Maple Leafs to me and if you're in love with him then that's fine but your overreactions to everything I say about him isn't a good look.

I have a stepson who's been diagnosed as bi-polar. I had to take some emergency time off work to go help him earlier today which is why I was away from here between 11:30 and 1:30 or so. It's not a term to be taken lightly so I'll just say politely that I'd appreciate it if you didn't use that term here anymore. You're not using it appropriately and it's not something to be taken lightly.

Have a nice day.

That's the beauty of having 4 top players playing to their abilities, Matthews and Marner carried games 1-3 JT and Nylander have taken over 4-6. However now it's game 7 we desperately need all 4 to have the game of their lives.
Exactly. One day it's M&M that get it done, then it's Nylander or Tavares and that's fine. People shouldn't expect anyone to be great every single game and the knee jerk responses to players having a bad stretch are ridiculous. First it was Tavares who some people were saying is "replacement level", now it's Marner who people are pissed at despite the fact that he's been very good for us overall.

I don't think we need all 4 to have the game of their lives and that's not likely to happen either. But can you imagine if it did? :)

I will settle for all 4 of them having at least an above average game tomorrow night but most of all, we need Campbell to have a good game, maybe even a very good game!

GLG!!

Dude, you need to go over your post history. You just can't seem to decide if Marner is the most amazing thing you've ever seen or that he should be traded immediately. You might get some respect if you just picked one but constantly flip flopping and now "cleaning the slate" makes you look like you don't understand the game at all.

Dude, you said I'm "emotionally flip flopping, now, almost daily."

The truth is that I've "adjusted" my opinion of Marner exactly once since last summer.

Get a grip, and then get a life.

Bunting needs to pickup it up too, he was a boat anchor on that line last night, for my money the worst forward on the team and I love the guy.
They say you are only as good as your weakest player
I expect bunting to have a very good game 7. You can tell he loves Toronto, and he’s gonna leave it all out there tmrw

For the leafs to win game 7:
The core guys need to drive play
The complimentary guys need to play their roles
The depth guys just have to break even

Jack cannot let in the first goal, especially if it’s a weak one or their first real chance

If everyone does their job well we will win

Final 5 games.... 3 assists. Today he looked timid and weak. Again, was trying the same ol deke puck into net stuff and desperate cross ice passes that are picked off with ease.....still a long ways to go to catch up to his cap hit.

I thought Mitch was one of our worst players in Game 6. I would take this game 7 effort from him every time. He was engaged, making good plays, getting back... I thought he gave a full honest solid effort. He made mega strides in dealing with the big moment for me.

Marner played good today and as good as any forwards on both teams.
Really don’t know why some here will trash him
Nomatter what.
If Marner had a bad game or bad series, I would be the first to say he didn’t deliver and a few here would show me advanced stats that he did and the discussion will go on for months. However, overall, MM did great this series, there were times he over think but he was great and he showed up today.

You and I disagree there, my friend.
Was he not 11 million dollar good or was he not 7 million dollar good? Nylander for some reason seems to have the same expectations on his shoulder as Marner, Tavares and Matthews. He outperformed Marner and Matthews last postseason and matched them this postseason, yet people trash him. I've never been the hugest Nylander fan, but our core is very lucky to have him or else they'd get much more scrutiny. His production takes a load off of them.

Overplayed the puck on his stick through game 6. Especially in OT.
Did it again tonight.
Such a talented player, but once again, a game 7 failure.
0 shots in game 7.
