Marner was putrid tonight with the puck. Clearly he was not up to the moment. That is problematic for the Leafs. If he had played just an average game with the puck, I feel we win.

He has another chance to refocus and bring it, hope he can cause I am not sure we win without it.

It's seems like Marner has broken his lack of goal scoring during the playoffs and now he looks like he is content, I barely notice him, I notice JT far more, I notice Engvall way more, even Kampf looks more effective, I think Keefe has to remind Marner that the season isn't over and he needs to show up.

I mean he did set up the game winner on game 5, and was great early in the series.

But for his price tag, he needs to be the one to step up in those series clinching games too. Seems like he's getting in his own head out there again.

That flip to center ice leading to the game winner for Tampa can't happen. Even if Matthews never fell, it was never making it to him. That was getting picked no matter what.

I've seen him thread the needle all year long. Waits until overtime game 6 to suddenly get hands of stone. Very low IQ play as well that falls into the category of puck over the glass.

Needs to show up Saturday. I'm a Marner homer but he's making it hard to defend him in games a win sends us to the next round.

Ouch, I just watched it again and it gets worse. Let's Hagel go wide on him then loses his stick in the process taking himself out of the play for good. Come on Mitch, we need you beast mode in game 7.

Way, way too cute during OT

Keep it simple. You don't need to dangle the entire team to score a goal

Was fumbling the puck and such a bit, has to be in his own head again. Hopefully gets it together for game 7 cuz he was awful tonight.

Protects the puck for the other team in OT. Bunting was just as bad.

This. There's not much the core 4 homers (which I am a member of) can do for him. Streak continues of not bringing his best to an elimination game. It's up to him to end that streak Saturday.

Very average game from Marner. Way too many cute plays that didn't result in much. He just needs to play a simpler game. Going to need a huge game from him Saturday, if not Vasy getting the shutout per usual.

It seemed like he was fighting the ice and bouncing puck all night. He still created some decent chances

I hope it was just one of those weird games for him

He's had 2 great games and has since become a defensive ace like Kampf who makes $1.5 mil. not $11 mil., we need Marner to be both the offensive ace and defensive ace, now, to justify his his next contract demand of probably at least $12.5 mil.

Marners last few OT shifts was him trying to be magic marner again... instead of making safe plays he kept holding the puck trying to be the quarterback making the final play. He overhandled the puck and made numerous bad decisions. The flip pass he made to Matthews was another risk play and was behind Matthews and going to be picked off anyway. He has been more effective this playoffs then last but he still has not been good enough.

Back to the simplest basics plays Marner and u will find your magic. Tryin to hard.

First he just flips the puck into the neutral zone.

Then he gives his half ass fly by to the person he turned the puck over to:

Somehow during this poor attempt he loses his stick, leaving him defenseless to stop the pass

This guy just melts when the pressure is high. Disappointing.

First couple of games Marner was a dynamo and looked like he was going to carry over his amazing regular season play into the playoffs (finally!) but now, not sure what's happened to him. I really did not expect this, in fact I was sure that this wasn't going to happen but if he ends the season crying in the penalty box again, I'm not sure how to argue that we absolutely need to keep him because he has so much talent blah blah blah and he's bound to put it all together one of these years blah blah blah.

Clean slate for tomorrow night as far as I'm concerned. Tomorrow is the first game of the rest of your playoff career young man and when you career is done you will either be remembered as Money Mitch, or Magic Mitch so which is it going to be?

Criticism is fine, some are making good points. What I find amusing, posters who virtually disappeared when they couldn’t jump on Mitch suddenly back here. Loser human beings is really the only thing I’m gleaming.

Shoot Mitch, go to the net, simplify.

Kid overthinks when the pressure is on.

Make a f***ing play and stop looking for the highlight reel CHL rubbish.

Well he had 1 bad game folks .. he was our best players for game 1-3 .. he has brought a lot more then i expected TBH .. as game speed picks up Mitch will have trouble going end to end .. Mitch/team needs to play a half ice game against Tampa where Mitch can utilize his edge work and lateral skating capabilities .. those up/down ice games like last night are much harder for him .. Matty is only 1 on that line that can play that style of game

He’s been great off the puck but with it he’s got the jitters again. Couldn’t complete a simple pass for his life yesterday, all in his head.

Better snap out of it for game 7.

Almost lost us game 5 with the between the leg drop pass that led to the tying goal and yesterday cute and soft plays (not totally responsible for the loss (refs) but didn't help).

Oh man, you've switched back to hater again, so soon? I guess that you can always be right if you constantly change your opinion.
