The over the glass shot seems to signal that he is literally squeezing the stick. Hopefully he snaps out of it. Maybe the hitting and the Tavares injury have got to him. He and Matthews can’t play fancy dangles with playoff reffing. It will never work. No one can make that work. They have to stop trying. This lines only hope now is that Matthews goes back to initiating contact like he did earlier in the series and toward the end of the game last night.

But seriously, we should not be talking about trading him. And if we are, not for Eichel. Especially when Seth Jones has said he won’t re sign in Columbus.

You move Nylander to play with Matthews and you still have a good top line. Tavares has shown in the past he can carry two plugs and turn them into productive players.

Of course you can, it just has to be for another star player earning bank that needs a change of scenery. Eichel makes perfect sense unless the Sabres are dead set on moving him for prospects and cap relief, but then there will be someone else. If the Leafs move Marner for cap relief it will only make the situation worse. Marner is a 90 point player in the prime of his career, you don't just replace that production.

They've watched it first hand being bounced by Boston and Washington. Doesn't matter.
