Kadri is good but Brown and Kapanen are overrated. Brown shooting percentage is way high this season and he scored too many SH goals which aren't easily repeatable. Good riddance to both. Well, all three actually.

I've yet to see a very compelling offer by our fellow fans.

If someone was like, 'I wish we could trade Marner for McAvoy/Svechnikov or even Jack Hughes', I would agree.

But there are so many stinkers. Most of whom just want cap space so they can sign 30 year old free agents.
No, most want cap space to balance the lineup. Marner is the most useless piece to move and gain the most cap.

25 points in 32 games. Truly.

I wonder how many of those are primary assists. We know how many are goals. 'Points' is also how Marner fooled management into that contract the eye test says different.

Anyway it's all irrelevant. Unless he plays like an 11 million dollar players, in the playoffs, what good is he really? It's an honest question, because Leafs are shedding left and right and signing budget hacks to round out the team.

12 primary assists over those 5 playoffs.

For primary points he was:
3+7A1 over his first 13 games (2 series)
2G + 5A1 over the last 19 games (3 series)

Marner is a good player, he is not trash.
But at the same time, his productive playoffs were pretty much a few years ago.
Using that to justify he produced in the playoffs is the same as saying Jumbo needs to be on the first line and PP1 b/c he is a HOF and just look at his productions 10 years ago.

Now, can Marner started producing in the playoffs, thats the 11mil question.

I have no doubt he will.

Even in his productive series against Boston, he was pretty brutal defensively. To his credit, he has been very good in the playoffs defensively since then, but it appears that it came at the expense of his offensive game. The challenge is being able to do both at the same time, but I don't really see that in him

Honestly Marner defenders at this point kind of remind me of Sixers homers who still defend Ben Simmons. We all know what has to be done here.
I imagine most have no idea who you’re talking about

1st Boston series he played with Bozak and JVR.

2nd series he was basically tasked, along with Tavares, of handling Bergeron. He lost the matchup but there were some good games in there.
