Is that the cap strapped team that just signed a bottom six forward for $2M?
But couldn't afford to keep another bottom six forward who only cost $1M?
This seems genuine. Is that the cap strapped team that just signed a bottom six forward for $2M?

Rodriques is like a box of chocolates, probably why he went so cheap.MacKinnon is signed for this upcoming season. His new deal will begin 2023-2024.
Rodrigues is a better player than NAK. He had 40+ points & played in Pittsburgh’s top six last year.
The gotcha is “they had $10M+ to pay someone so the fact that they didn’t sign NAK shows that they just didn’t want him!”I really don’t see the “gotcha” here. They signed a better player for a $1M more.
Rodrigues has averaged 14:24 of ice time in his NHL career so far. NAK is at 10:18. Rodrigues hasn’t been used as a fourth liner for a while now. He’s been closer to a middle of the lineup guy in his career.
Rodrigues is also an analytic darling as an undervalued player around the league too.
You know who is not a box of chocolates? Nic Deslauriers. The guy that Fletcher gave a four year deal to on the first day of free agency to. You know EXACTLY what you’re getting from him.
That’s the difference between those franchises.

2017-18: 27 ES points in 48 games
2018-19: 22 ES points in 74 games
2019-20: 9 ES points in 45 games
2020-21: 12 ES points in 35 games
2021-22: 35 ES points in 82 games

Yeah, they were technically the alts, but they wore them for every playoff run since 2018 and used them during the regular season more often than your typical alternates (I think, I do not have the numbers to back that up)Haven't they primarily worn the blacks for a few years now? Especially in the playoffs.
It’s typically 12 games a year for alternates.Yeah, they were technically the alts, but they wore them for every playoff run since 2018 and used them during the regular season more often than your typical alternates (I think, I do not have the numbers to back that up)
And changing the whites was one of the first things on Dundons agenda when he bought the team. I think they debuted the stupid diagonal ‘Canes’ jerseys the next year.
So Del Zotto, who played 26 NHL games, and 26 AHL games last year, got a PTO before Yandle.Brassard PTO in Ottawa.
Yandle still waiting by the phone.
New York bit hard on that productive WJC as 19 y/o years ago.
thats such a good idea the NHL will never embrace it...I’ll die on the hill that teams shouldn’t have home and away jerseys.
Have a primary and then as many alternates as you want. If two teams have the same primary colors, one of them uses an alternate. Easy.
That way you can see most opponents main jerseys when you go to games. White jerseys are overrated and white jerseys as the default at home is a horrible idea.
Honestly surprised even they passed up on him that year. In theory he’s usually what they clamor for as a higher end utility player. His production up to that point suggested he was actually a decent bet to make that outcome unlike others.
