Patrick for Ellis an all timer
You have to wonder if he has considered retiring from hockey at this point. Tough to see.

Still odd to me that Jack Hughes is on the same contract (and even makes a bit less than Robert Thomas, who I think the world of.....but still).
Anyway, Norris' contract seems maybe a bit riskier, since he's so dependent on his finishing, but if you're confident he's your contending top 6 center, best to bet long term. Especially adding so much talent, although the other argument is someone is getting squeezed out on the PP. I watched Norris on that mediocre NTDP team, and frankly, I thought he was just a 3C. Even after his rookie Michigan season. I definitely missed his scoring potential, but I think the Senators also did a terrific job with his development.
He's good, but not that good. I think Pierre got a little drunk there. I didn't expect an 8 on either side of his deal though.
Well the Sens did just add one of the best passers in the league to their team so this Norris kid is probably gonna put up some goals this yearHe's good, but not that good. I think Pierre got a little drunk there. I didn't expect an 8 on either side of his deal though.
Yeah I could see him having a few years where he overperforms from a points perspective, but as you and JFresh allude to it wont be solely because of him. The downside would be Provorov-esque, where they realize a couple years in that he isn't as much of a 1C as they hoped when they signed. Should still be moveable. He is signed though his entire prime which I think is smart with their current situation. If they bridged and he has a couple good years next to Giroux, with the cap going up, not good. This could definitely be a situation where they should've gotten it done before the Thomas contract. I feel like the Hischier contract would've been a negotiable basis. A 20% shooting % and 43 goal pace, even if he shot 20% in the AHL and 17% in the NHL as a rookie, feels ripe for some regression. Norris is a bit linemate dependent on certain areas of the game, to which Jfresh alludes, but then again, the Sens have assembled dream linemates. It's hard for me to see him overperforming that, but I guess he could perform up to it?
@JojoTheWhale I have stayed true to my word of not bidding on the Jack Johnson up to this point.
You asked me to promise you that I wouldn't so i'm just making sure that you know I haven't.This is concerningly specific. Good luck with the bids you did place.

Don’t worry. He’s bidding for a romantic date with an eligible JohnsonPhrasing?

This one extended for thirty seconds after a bid was made in the last thirty seconds. Annoying but not too bad.Sometimes this is the best outcome. You got to have the thought of winning it, but you didn't have to cut the check.
And this wasn't one of those extend 15 minutes on every bid deals where you had to stay up until 4 AM. Some of the AHs used to extend the entire catalog if any lots got a bid.
