Holy shit a new idea.

That feels smart? You’re not going to deter someone who loves him from a claim, but it might move off the marginal ones?
You’re deterring the teams who need guys to run out the season. They don’t want teams like the Sharks or Habs claiming him. I guess we’ll see if it works, he’ll either only go to their AHL team, or he’ll stay in the NHL for someone else, and I guess claim him back if he hits waivers again later.

I still have no clue why Vancouver added Lindholm in the first place given the cost & more importantly the fact that he isn’t really even good anymore.

Guentzel probably is the best forward on the market so there’s that but man that’s a long path just to potentially get him.

That potential trade sure is puzzling to me. Why is Boston giving up DeBrusk? Lindholm would seem like a downgrade no?

Boston needs help at center and DeBrusk isn’t one and seems like they’re not signing him.

Really does seem to be some merit to the Canucks getting Lindholm in case Pettersson didn’t sign.

The Canucks were also probably hoping Lindholm could hold down a top 6 centre role so they could play Pettersson with Miller in some cases.

Lindholm just hasn't fit in like they expected him to.

He’s been playing in their division, so they should’ve had a decent idea how he would fit.

it seems they could do better than Lindholm if they need C help. Unless they really don’t want to trade picks or prospects

Me neither, but I find it funny as shit. It's a straight NBA move looking to flip him after 15 games. Hockey GMs are the gold standard in not cutting their losses and doubling down.

Looks like we’re in the game here

4th round pick a year or two in the future would be the expected return for the Flyers.

Curious to see the final trade details.

Edit: 2024 5th round pick. Was guessing a 4th in 2025 or 2026. Who’s bleeping pick? Could this be the 2024 Chicago 5th Calgary received in a prior trade?

Edit2: nope, report is Vegas 2024 5th.

Like what the flyers did today. Another 1st, mid round pick and seeler signing.

Wouldn't mind seeing another vet (laughton) for picks deal and calling it a day.
