So Carolina actually trades for a true rental in Guentzel. They at least ditched Bunting’s contract as he hasn’t been good in first season with them.

At least in regards to this year & the playoff push it at least gives Carolina a legit scorer which they’ve struggled in as a team this year.

This is his second call-up of the season. I think he made his debut around Christmas.

I too think he'd benefit from more AHL time but the Caps fans on their board are like us and want to see the kids play the rest of the year.

Pretty much, yeah. Our best prospects are Nikishin, Nadeau, Morrow, and Unger-Sorum, with the guys who got traded falling somewhere between 5-10th in the pipeline. We’ve also made something like 50 picks over the last five drafts, so we can afford to give away three of them for a rental.
