So Carolina actually trades for a true rental in Guentzel. They at least ditched Bunting’s contract as he hasn’t been good in first season with them.

At least in regards to this year & the playoff push it at least gives Carolina a legit scorer which they’ve struggled in as a team this year.

Going from waiver fodder to top pair d? That's certainly unconventional career arc. Not sure how old he is but he does seem to avoid contact quite a bit so if his skating holds up he should pre productive for majority of his deal too.
 
Koivunen sounds intriguing, the rest fairly average? Surprised they couldn’t get a first. Carolina knows its business.

Pretty much, yeah. Our best prospects are Nikishin, Nadeau, Morrow, and Unger-Sorum, with the guys who got traded falling somewhere between 5-10th in the pipeline. We’ve also made something like 50 picks over the last five drafts, so we can afford to give away three of them for a rental.
