Carolina is stacked with these kinds of prospects. They weren't going to sell off the top shelf but all three of those guys are pretty solid. That's why you draft in volume.

Koivunen had better production than Tuomaala, got picked after him and is a PPG player in Liiga now.

Lucius got buried on that stacked USNTDP but is pretty talented and has produced at a great clip in college.

Thought Ponomaryov was a bottom 6er in his draft year and seems to be tracking that way as a pro.

I'm chuckling at likely the Flyers 2nd rounder and Koivunen (who they drafted above Tuomaala -- and we ranked higher) being the headliners. I don't know how Carolina does it......I mean I do. But they just made an HFBoards quantity trade for a star wing, and they didn't have to part with a single prospect that likely hurts. Because they shit out statistical upside picks in volume.

I guess Pittsburgh's idea is to band-aid an entire forward line's worth for next year? I find most of the players involved fine but floor-ish. There's no way there wasn't a better pure quality deal out there. And yet Carolina always seems to get involved with these trades. Don't trade with Carolina.

Flyers currently have more points than Vegas
Hopefully Vegas miss the playoffs again, and a few more people will realize that having your best player be injured all the time isn't actually a good thing.

They started the year 11-0-1 and are the second wild card

They’re back to 11 players signed beyond this season and a few pending RFAs due big raises. Do they expect a lot of prospect promotions?
