To continue being the Sabres
When I look at the state of the flyers, and how much hatred I have for this team in how we have been treated over 10 years, I just remember that there are actually Sabres fans that exist.

What a whacky condition.

Edit: ah that was the condition on the pick set between Dallas & New York for the Lundkvist deal so that transfers over with the pick. Lundkvist needs 19 points with 18 games left to play for Dallas.

The condition follows a previous trade. If Nils Lundkvist earns 55 cumulative points over the 2022-23 and 2023-24 regular seasons, the pick upgrades to Dallas' 2025 3rd round pick.

It’s wild they’re steal wheeling & dealing like this in year 7.

I was just looking at their cap friendly page & was stunned at how their contract outlook was. You’d think a team like that would be bogged down with more future worrisome contracts.

It's kind of ridiculous how they murdered every other dumbass team in the league during the expansion draft to set them up with all the assets. Yet they still acquire talent without giving up a lot of plus assets and they get big names in free agency.

For a few years they were but they were able to do things like give away Pacioretty and put Lehner on LTIR. Fleury was given away after just winning the Vezina. They truly are in video game mode.

They could absolutely go all in again next year potentially. They have the draft capital & cap space to do so.

The only thing though is they absolutely have nothing in terms of U23 talent on their roster or prospect pool. It’s Brendan Brisson & that’s basically it.

Wonder how many premium draft picks they're giving up. But it's nice when you acquire other teams' reject prospects/young guys and they actually turn out to be average to above average.
