Realistic and likely ufa targets that will help the team if acquired include:
Palmieri
Boeser
Evans
Armia
Donato
Kunin
Gourde (maybe)
Players with term or rfa
Evangelista
Zetterlund
Foerster
Laughton
Bjorkstrand
McCann
Rakell
There are a few other names in there, but the above list comprises the most likely targets imo that JBB might be inquiring on and that will help the team on not only a run this season, but hopefully for several years to come in this window.

I don't think I would put Foerster and Zetterlund in likely, they aren't publicly available like the other guys on this list are. Also Palmieri is the same age as ROR

Tampa has paid high prices for impact rfas before, so while neither may be getting a ton of attention, they're the kind of player acquisition JBB sometimes goes after. Palmieri will cost much less than ROR, plays a position they definitely need, and they'd still have a decent chance at re-signing him.

I agree but I just wouldn't put them in likely, we don't know if their team's are willing to trade them. I think a lot of the disparity in price between ROR and Palmieri would be in the retention cost. Palmieri is a net front specialist and we need more of a right-handed sniper/playmaker middle 6 player

Is a 50-60 point winger 4th line production or is that not "middle 6" esque.

Maybe they aren't likely, but among rfa's that one could see JBB offering a great deal for, they are near the top. Palmieri is a great add imo. He can play 2nd or 3rd line RW, is physical enough and can score in front, and he's alright defensively. It's possible he'd just be a rental, true, but if the cost for him is a 2nd+mid round pick/B prospect, so be it. I'd still rather pay that for him rather than overpay (which is what would be required), for a same age ROR that still has 2 more years. Some have said that he's already shown some signs this season of slowing down a little, and I don't like the idea of paying premium assets for him.

If they can find a way to get Foerster then they definitely should, he fits what this team needs almost exactly. Palmieri will be making a decent amount on his next contract and if we are spending that kind of cap I would like it to be a longer term deal to take advantage of the rising cap and I don't think rentals make sense for this team unless they are inexpensive. I have only seen Palmieri be the netfront but does he play the bumper? We could switch Pointer to the other halfwall but thats still not ideal

What do we think about Rakell? 5M until 27/28 season. PIT will most likely miss PO, but maybe they'll try to keep Crosby happy and not sell?

Brad Marchand and Chris Simon are the two players I've most despised in my life.

That said, I'd buy a Marchand jersey in an instant if we got him.
Thus the life of a sports fan.

We heard a lot of the same stuff with Corey Perry. It's different when the guy plays for you. Then he goes from "rat" to "very effective agitator." Which, really, we could use.
