Minnesota
Not even a little concerned

What if the whole team lands on IR? the fans gonna be livid
What if they purchase a winning lotto ticket? who is they? i assume they would be quite happy
What if Rossi plays like a demon possessed? does that possessed demon score 100 points or just 10 but very angerily get them?
What if something finally clicks for Brodin offensively and becomes the greatest defenseman to ever play the game? then we get that initial extra talent i heard about that will keep us out of the bottom 5.

We can play the what if game all day.
Indeed we can play it all day.
I don't want to say anything is outside the realm of possibility, but even without Kaprizov and Fiala, I don't think they end up bottom 5. But hey, crazy things happen, and if that happens organically, that's fine. Great even.
How many of the bottom 5 teams look to have improved this off season? I dont think Seattle, Montreal and New Jersey stay in the bottom 5 this season. Chicago obviously looks to be heading there but that still leaves 2 open spots.

To hold our spot, or to not see a at least a semi-dramatic downturn, we probably need the following:

Boldy to be last year's Fiala, and Rossi to be last year's Boldy. Is it possible? Sure, but I'd bet on it being a year too early for both.

Dumba to rebound to what he was pre-injury. Is it possible? Sure, but he's had a few years to do it and hasn't yet, so...

Gustavsson to be as good or better than Talbot. Is it possible? Sure, but what is there in his numbers that would make you lean in that direction, aside from a 9 game stretch two years ago? This is actually the one that I would be the least surprised coming to fruition, since goalies are just weird.

And this is without seeing any notable slide from guys like Foligno, Hartman, Zuccarello, Spurgeon and Fleury AND this isn' taking into account Nashville getting better and Colorado and St. Louis probably (at the very least) staying the same.

Hoping that COL has a serious Cup hangover...not counting on it, but I could see it happening.

Next season could go alot of different ways. Lot of guys had career seasons, can they sustain? If Kaprizov is healthy, he will drag them into a playoff spot as an 8th seed. Just remains to be seen if they have the firepower necessary to be better than that 8th seed.

All worse than Minnesota next season, IMO:

Vegas
Arizona
Chicago
Seattle
Detroit
Philadelphia
Calgary (If Tkachuk gets moved)
Don't sleep on Boston or Vancouver hitting the suck next season
Anaheim is questionable

People like saying this.

In 2018-19, Patrick Kane had 110 points (44 goals). On that same team, Toews had 81 and Debrincat had 76 (41 goals). All 3 played at least 81 games. They finished 8th in the entire league, offensively... and finished 6th in the Central division because their goalies had a combined save % of .904

It's not a given.

I dont think Anaheim or Seattle will be bottom 5. Vegas is a wild card for anything so I wont dispute them. Yotes gonna Yote. Chi is tanking heavy. Detroit is not going to be bottom 5 nor were they bottom 5 last year. Flyers I could see following down there yes. Calgary should fall but how far? Boston is bringing the gang back for what seems like one final run, who knows what will happen there and until JT Miller gets moved I dont think the Nucks are going down to bottom 5.

so we have:
Vegas 50/50
Chicago
Arizona
Philadelphia 50/50
Boston?
Vancouver is too soon to predict before the season starts simply due to all the rumored possible trade activity.

I see 2 for sure teams going to be at the bottom.

Different teams, different circumstances. The Wild weren't the only team in the West to lose firepower this offseason. Calgary, Vegas, and St Louis all lost significant offensive players.

Similar shaky goaltending.

Vegas gets Stone and Eichel back, St. Louis may very well add Tkachuk.

why? what if hes stuck in russia all next season?
Why would he be? He has a contract, he didn't have a VISA last season and played all year. The only reason he doesn't have a VISA is because the pandemic caused VISA delays. There were MANY players in the NHL withouyt a VISA last season... including Kap.

Kaprizov most likely has no troubles coming back for the season, but in the off chance he can't come back, we get a lottery pick. Win-win situation.

At the beginning of last year there wasn't a huge freeze on Russia. And many of the players in the NHL without a VISA may have issues this season. It'd be better if Kaprizov is over here now.

It's blown out of proportion because of the whole tabloid journalism that made a big deal out of something that was a nothingburger. He already completed his visa application in Moscow a week or so ago and is now rehabbing in Germany.

Since when is 16th a lottery pick? :sarcasm:

Honestly, I'm not worried about Kaprizov until I have reason to be. As of now, it sounds like (mostly) business as usual.

Where is the report he completed his visa application? Did Russo mention it in his podcast because I am not seeing any reports of that. And completing the application and getting a visa is two different things.

Not really. Being unable to communicate properly is on the onus of the person speaking/typing. It shouldn't be on the receiver to decipher bad grammar.
And yet you or I or anyone else had any issue understanding what they were saying this isnt an english class nor are we submitting essays to our professors for grading this is a forum website where people speak and write casually about s specific sport we all like

Stop acting like because someone didnt capitalize a letter at the beginning of a sentence makes it unable to read

No one said it makes it unreadable, stop the strawman.

It is perfectly reasonable to be bothered by bad communication skills. Fault could be placed on both parties but being smug about it ("sounds like a you problem") isn't really a good look.

I am blowing it out of proportion I am aware of that but no one comes here for English lessons or to be corrected

If it bugs you that much to where it "makes your head hurt" just block them

Stating "It shouldn't be on the receiver to decipher bad grammar" or "it makes my head hurt" is a passive aggressive way of saying its unreadable
