Abols to Abols, Dust to Dust
It's terrifying to ponder what they think they're going to do with that cap space
Everything they do is terrifying to Ponder, you're absolutely correct.

I have no problem losing these two, I just wish they had obtained a 1st or one of Calgary's better prospects.
Are you the same person who repeatedly said the board overrates its prospects?Abols, watching him he's for real,
Farabee isn't a reliable second line winger. Not like median second line winger Noah Cates.I don't see any demonizing, Torts gave Frost and Farabee plenty of chances to prove themselves.
Farabee flatlined, maybe b/c he adjusted quickly with his smarts but over time his physical limitations won out, he never filled out and isn't that strong, he has average speed, average shot though good hands near the net, but lacks the anchor for the dirty area. He's better than he's shown this season (Sh% is half his norm), but never developed into a reliable 2LW. Good scorer who needs to play with better players.
Same with Frost, who had his best season two years ago (under Torts) but hasn't been able to build upon it. He just lacks "it," he's good in open ice but simply isn't a great playmaker in the "half court" or on the PP. Very good but not great speed and he doesn't play as fast as his timed speed. He's never been able to add functional strength and gets knocked off the puck too easily. He's responsible defensively but depends on his stick. A dependable middle six center who was never able to develop into a 2C.
They don't fit the Flyers style, which is fast and physical down the middle (Cates, Poehling, Jett), allowing a mix of size and skill at wing (TK, Brink, Michkov and Tippett, Foerster). Which suggests they're looking for another center in trade/the draft who fits their prototype - full size, above average speed, high IQ, two way player.
This move suggests Briere is ready for a fire sale this spring, if they thought they could stay in the playoff race they'd have waited until June to move Frost.
This is a crack pipe take. Holy shit.
Just for posterity, do you still not believe this is the trade return because it doesn't make a lick of sense? I'm trying to correctly position where on the boot it is exactly you planted your tongue.Frost was top six by default (though Couts has outscored him at ES, 23 to 18).
Farabee was the 3LW.
They would not have been top six next year, I think they had already slotted Jett ahead of Frost.
Michkov, TK, Tippett, Foerster, Brink were all ahead of Farabee. Pelletier will replace him on the 3rd line.
Frost wasn't suppressed, he just wasn't as good as people here think he was. He played with Michkov, TK and Tippett, our three best scoring forwards and had mediocre production.
In Calgary he'll play with Farabee and Sharangovich on their 3rd line.
Abols will replace him in the short-run, but his long-term replacement isn't on the team.
I have no problem losing these two, I just wish they had obtained a 1st or one of Calgary's better prospects.
And het he’s been benched on both teams he’s been on, healthy scratched on both and now traded from both. What does that say?He still somehow scored 39 goals in 81 games for Vancouver in his rookie season and then 14 goals in 29 games for Calgary in the previous one. Now look at Farabee.
I don't understand fans logic sometimes. First they whine the team turns Michkov into a grinder, and then they whine the player the team gets isn't grinding enough. Sometimes you just need skill and IQ over skating fast and hit everything. Especially given Farabee wasn't great in those things either.
The Tank is ON!Uh actually yes the team has become blatantly worse
Do players get to chose what team they represent in the HOF? If so, I hope G goes as a Senator.THATS MY SENS LEGEND
Sounds like the type of player people here will make fun of and find a silly nickname for.You guys will love Pelts, sucks losing him. Might be the biggest glue guy I’ve ever seen. He’s been playing really well since his last call-up. He won’t be much more than a middle six guy that kills penalties and chips in 15-20 in his prime, but you guys will love him.
Kuzy is hilarious. He’s an easy guy to cheer for. His interviews are the best. Play wise, when he’s on, he’s f***ing great. When he’s off, you won’t even notice him.
I don’t think you guys did as bad as everyone is saying. Especially finding out that Kuzy and Michkov are good buddies.
Anyways, take care of Pelts. He’s the friggin best
