Are we having fun yet?

I am, probably because I gave up on the team months ago. I've just been watching hockey to watch hockey, channel surfing between a lot of different games at intermissions or if I get bored with a game.

I definitely think Guerin should be on the hot seat after this season. He gave himself zero flexibility at the deadline and this team seems to be paddling around the lake with one oar. The only two good things this year is Hynes actually got this team to respond and the rookies have stepped up. But Guerin has given himself zero flexibility and we're going to be icing the same roster as next year.

Guerin to The Athletic about all the injured players:

"No trade plans, cap space isn't there. We just have to weather the storm. This will be an opportunity for our depth guys. We'll be OK."

Not quite there yet.

$40.4m active roster.
$33.1m IR/LTIR (without trying to cheat the system)
$14.7m in dead cap.
According to Capfriendly, we are icing a team that would have been a cap "ceiling" team back in 06-07, the second year that the cap existed. Ceiling in quotes because it's actually about $3.6 million lower than the ceiling that year.

lmao

Translation: “I can’t hurt myself, because I previously handcuffed myself!”

We have plenty of contract slots, I think the waiver wire is exactly where they should be looking, if you have to dump that player again later for the cap so be it, it’s a harsh league for those on the bubble but the org is extremely short handed at the moment and many of these guys would relish an opportunity.

Phil Kessel is still available.
Throw him some hot dogs and lure him to Minnesota.
I bet he's still better than half our current lineup
I'd be shocked if he's hit the ice once since he didn't get signed in free agency. He's probably 300 pounds by now.

Even better!

"......Wild are attempting to kill time in the offensive zone while Kessel makes his way back up the ice.......Avs turn them over and now have a 5-4 advantage until Kessel gets back......."

Not happy with Walker? Raska is the forward they got in return for Addison.
He has 1 point in 27 games for Iowa...

In Guerin we trust...or do we?
