I do agree that Hartman's been easy to pick on and that teams are seeing that. He needs to xgwxj his temper in control, because teams are exploiting him and Foligno and getting under their skin.

There’s a difference between handling things like a dumb person and handling things the smart way. Hartman took the dumb route.
Defending Hartman for being stupid is like defending Ohlund for slashing Koivu’s leg. wElL kOiVu ElBoWeD hIm In ThE fAcE, tHe EnDs JuStIfY tHe MeAnS.
I don’t even care if the Wild are on their revenge arc against these teams. Have the things you do actually matter. Lay Robertson out with a nice solid clean hit. Score a game winning goal from the power play they gave us from being dirty. Poke at them to get them to do something stupid and hurt *their* team. Don’t kick/knee someone who wasn’t involved with the back and forth you were just having because you can’t control your temper. You not only look like a lil bitch, you also put your team in a worse spot.

It would be tough to find a player, even good guys, that haven't made a dumb or reckless play here and there. Not sure why calling out Hartman from one stupid play is considered the same as chasing Kaprizov up and down the ice just waiting for the right cheap shot like Winnipeg does.

You might have a point if it was just one stupid play… it’s not just one though. It’s not even close to just one stupid play. He’s notorious for not being able to control his temper and doing stupid things as a result.
No, it's not. It's like saying Cooke taking out Barrie was good for the team, which it was. We lost a bottom-6 winger. They lost one of their most important defensemen. It was a factor in allowing us to win that series.

He's biased as hell and part of my post spoke about my dislike of how that makes him overzealous against the opposing team, but that doesn't mean he's wrong overall. I'd like to see the Stars get punished for their garbage, too. Lord knows they've done enough of it over the years.
Matt Cooke was a bottom 6 player and considered to be one of the dirtiest players to play the game. Hartman is our 1st line center. We should not be striving for Hartman to be like him.
I mean, people are sick of Foligno’s antics too, right? It cost us dearly in the playoffs last season.

Hartman is an annoying player who gets chirped and slashed and then eventually does something stupid. Foligno goes looking for stupid at the drop of the puck.
The season really needs to start.

The best part of the extensions to the three culture guys is that if we would’ve waited and just not extend one of them, we probably would’ve had enough cap space next offseason with the projected 87.7M to fit in a guy like Petterson if he were to become available. Oh well. We’ll still have enough space to get Nick Foligno if we want

If Rossi can translate his AHL & preseason game to the big show, I could see us being a respectable team. I am expecting 3rd pair and maybe MAF to be the weakest points for us this year
To be fair - Hartman deserves to be in the bottom 6 of any team with some semblance of C talent....we don't have that so here we are.
He’s an interesting player. Lead the team in total points the last two playoffs (combined). Not Kap. Not Zucc. Not Boldy.
Maybe that’s why we suck in the playoffs.

That's bound to happen when you make it effortlessly easy to shut down your best players by only having one good player per line
Two years ago Boldy was a rookie so you give him the benefit of the doubt
Shut down Fiala on that line and it's up to Boldy and Gaudreau
Shut down Kaprizov on that line and it's up to Hartman and Zuccarello (who's always injured+liability come playoffs anyway)
If you had a line of Kaprizov-Ek-Boldy for example, other team focuses on shutting down Kaprizov, fine, you still have Ek and Boldy who can hurt tou
Now you suddenly can't put all your energy into shutting down Kaprizov anymore, voila, Kaprizov is a threat again

Game on Thursday. Norwegian here. For us Zucc is up there with Hovland, Ruud & Haaland. This is the best hockey song ever. Made by the a band supporting the team Zucc played for until he was 16.
