I think the roster is set at 21 with 12 FWD, 7D, and 2G

Would you mind to give us a list?

ETA:
Kap, Ek, Zucc
Boldy, Rossi, Johannsen
Gaudreau, Hartman, Foligno
?,?,?

Spurgeon, Faber, Brodin, Goli, ?, ?, ?

Flower, Gus

Kaprizov - Hartman - Zucc
Johansson - Eriksson Ek - Boldy
Foligno - Rossi - Gaudreau
Duhaime - Dewar - Maroon

Brodin - Faber
Middleton - Spurgeon
Merrill - Addison
Goligoski

Gustavsson
Fleury
This can’t be the roster. There’s not enough people in Zucc’s inner circle in that roster

The article mentioned that there was 25 players still at the camp. Who are the 4 players not mentioned above that needs to be cut to trim the roster down to 21? Or did I get that all wrong?

Foligno-Rossi-Gaudreau - who is going to the shoot the puck between these 3? I’d almost prefer we swap Hartman & Freddy

Rossi is a pass first guy, but will shoot the puck. Hopefully Freddy will start putting that finishing ability he flashes in SO's to use during games, especially if he is getting fed by Rossi. I don't think this line is an ideal fit for Rossi, but i get why they aren't putting him in Hartman's place on the 1st, because he really isn't an ideal fit there(way too small of a line), either, AND, he hasn't earned that spot.

I due time, I hope that Rossi plays well enough that he is put up with Boldy and MarJo, while JEE goes up with Kap. Hartman would be a great fit for a really effective 3rd line with speed, physicality, D, and a bit of scoring ability... hell, maybe we could call it... the "Identity Line" !

The kids that are nursing injures I think. Milne, Hunt, etc.

I have Kaprizov and Boldy on my fantasy team, so will be rooting for the wild to some extent this year.

I took Boldy 61st overall, am a little worried I overdrafted him, I drafted him expecting 35 goals 35 apples, 70 point type production - any thoughts?

Very doable with Eriksson Ek and Johansson, as long as they all stay healthy. He looked good last night. He'll also be playing 1PP with Kaprizov so that'll help.

My only concern would be if Johansson is going to be the same Johansson from the TDL to the end of the regular season. I might be in the minority but I'm not convinced that wasn't just a hot streak. Obviously 18 points in 20 games is probably an unsustainable rate for him for a whole season, but I'm talking about quality of play.

A pairing of Goligoski and Middleton would be terrifyingly slow. I think the are better off pairing Faber and Goligoski, maybe Middleton and Brodin.

As much as I liked Lambos in preseason, I don't think that bringing up he, ROR, or Mermis would help the team, even if the cap would allow it. My enthusiasm about Lambos was thinking that he had the potential to be a good NHL'er after he gets a year or two of AHL under his belt. Also, none of the guys I mentioned are RHD....not a huge deal, but a deal nonetheless.

What a great time for Addison to step up and really show what he can do. I am not one of his biggest fans, but everyone can improve and he is still young and should be highly motivated to increase his value to the team for his next contract. He´s got a great mentor in Brodin and needs to closely study the fine art of bodychecking and be more reliable in front of his own goalie. No more pedestrian behaviour.

Idk how you don’t break up the other pairings. Goose isn’t spurgeon please don’t be that dumb deano… merril and goose as a third pairing I can live with.

Addison is probably the closest player to Spurgeon’s skillset, but man he is going to be a “treat” to watch if he gets Spurgeon’s minutes.

Doubling one's salary would be a significant raise.

Then again, so would quadrupling it.

Let's meet in the middle and call it triple. 3x5.1 is something I'd be okay with, especially given the Foligno deal. Let's all remember that's the one that's especially atrocious when this new one comes through.

I could see Guerin's negotiating style working out well here. I imagine he can make a case that Hartman deserves more than Foligno but less than Zuccarello, which leaves a clearly defined range of 4 to 4.125 mil.

Hartman doesn't agree immediately like the other two. Negotiations go on, but Hartman knows he won't get similar 1C opportunities elsewhere and he still likes the prospect of not moving from team to team, and they eventually settle for ~$4.3 mil

Or could just be wishful thinking on my part.

Blueline depth was already an issue and a tricky one because we have about a half dozen prospects who are 1 or 2 years away.
