Tell me you don't know what you are doing without telling me you don't know what you are doing. These trades were ill-advised at best. These 3 trades neither address our present or our future and Guerin (basically in his own words) admits we gave up a lot for nothing and we aren't there yet. As a season ticket holder, how am I supposed to feel about this?

Feel how you feel. Season tickets weren't worth it to me anymore a few years ago so I didn't renew them.

Was watching highlights of our Vegas series from 2021.

We had Kap, JEE, Fiala, Zucc, Parise, Foligno, Greenway, Hartman up front for a solid and deep Top 9. Boldy on the cusp and Rossi in the system.

Soucy & Cole as solid 4/5 D behind Suter, Spurgeon & Brodin.

Greenway had a lazy play and the series was lost in game 7. That summer Guerin blew up the franchise with the buyouts.

I don’t really have a point but it’s interesting to think about how things would’ve turned out had we kept Parise & Suter.

The next year was even better, but then kind is slowly down hill since then. I still think we have a promising core assuming we can re-sign kap and prospects but our dept is old and questionable.

Speaking of ESPN commercials, just call the Wild Felcher & Sons…

Avs are in trouble now..

Amen. Your feelings, whatever they are, are valid. There's hope for the future, so some are hopeful. There's uncertainty about it, so some are uncertain. There's nothing to be excited about this year, so some are upset about having spent money on the team this season. All of those are valid to feel.

Every year it feels like some building block players become available for one reason or another. The Eichel, Meier, PLD, etc. type of players. If you trade Hartman / Zucc / Foligno at the deadline you probably pick up a couple extra firsts. That would go a long way towards build a package to bring these type of guys in when the time comes. Doesn’t even have to be now. Can be a few years down the line after you’ve drafted the player. Unfortunately that won’t happen for us now

I'm not saying that people have to agree with it, or that it's good, but I think Guerin's plan is pretty easy to identify.
The plan is easy to see. My belief in Guerin’s asset management / player evaluation is my main criticism. I don’t actually hate his plan, I just don’t think he’s capable of executing it well

I wish he would have leaned a little harder into the rebuild side of it. There are some guys, Zuccarello being the big one, who probably could have returned a decent amount, and he serves absolutely no purpose when the Wild will presumably be contenders again. I also agree on with your criticisms.

Prioritize past performance and experience over actual speed skill and talent?

Build a comfortable locker room where no vet feels the need to perform or have any consequence for poor performance?

Seek to back in to the playoffs at any expense to keep a delusional owner happy and prevent yourself from feeling any heat?

He wanted to keep a 100 point team together through the buyouts and/or Kaprizov's contract. Maintain the status quo of being a playoff team. If Gus didn't fall off a cliff this year, it actually might've happened.

And do you think even if that happened that team would have contended or is it exactly what we’ve been cursed with the last 10 years. I mean….you can’t make this shit up. This entire franchise is a first round stepping stone

I think they were fine with a couple more years of chip/chair/chance, as much as people here don't like at.

And that was a huge miscalculation because what got us that chip and chair wasn’t built on anything other than dumb luck.

Like I said, I understand disagreeing with it. But I'll push back on "no plan".

I'll push back on how much it's a goal vs a plan

To me, a plan is a detailed outline of how you are going to achieve the goal. I think it was Guerin's goal to not dismantle the team, try to remain competitive, and gear up for 2025-26 and beyond, but I think he's largely winging the details along the way. The deadline trades, the extensions, I think he's just doing what he feels will help him achieve the goal, as those situations arise, without planning anything much.

I think this is just semantics.

Like how detailed? Because if it’s “I’m going to sign player X (for Y)” and that doesn’t come into fruition, then your whole detailed plan is out of whack from that point on.

His only detailed ideas were about Signing former teammates
Beyond that? shoot from the hip

Maybe Billy G actually attended Supervillian 101 on the day they went over plans?
-Never divulge or leave a paper trail of your plans.
-Just unalive the hero immediately.
-Only give your minions the info then need and no more.

How about when a guy takes over

Says he’s wants to get
Younger and faster

Severely handicaps the franchise because he’s cleaning out the country club

Then he brings his own aging garbage in, signs the long term ….slow injured aging garbage with full trade protection and zero motivation

Yah , that’s Billy big brain
