boldy may not be elite but hes a stud. we just need to find the right complimentary linemates for him. wasn't cozens drafted higher and should have higher expectations? as for bogosian extension i get we need more grit but if i were a wild D prospect i'd ask for a trade since they won't get a chance here. hey billy younger faster not older slower ya dumb F. ps boldy should be on the 2nd line. every cup contender has multiple scoring lines.

Yeah, except none of the D down in Iowa are ready, except for MAYBE Hunt.

Key thing about the Bogo contract is that there is no trade protection. Big RHD who can play a regular shift are always in demand. If he plays next year anything like he has this year then i can see him getting a late 2nd at the TDL.

Actually makes you wonder if O'Hearn (?) was the one giving out all the NTC/NMC in previous contracts.

Apparently Wild has the most full no-move clauses in the entire league at 7.

Only 5 other teams have 5 or more.

Practice today.
Zucc to LW, I guess those are the best linemates Rossi can have, top line excluded.
Johansson hurt, and Foligno on ice but not ready.

Kaprizov-Eriksson Ek-Boldy
Zuccarello-Rossi-Hartman
Duhaime-Dewar-Gaudreau
Shaw-Lucchini-Lettieri

Middleton-Faber
Brodin-Bogosian
Merrill-Chisholm

Weird, feels like I suggested those exact lines weeks ago?

I get players like Crosby, Hedman, Pietrangelo, and Kopitar getting NMC's. They've won Cups, and are major talents. I don't get giving them to guys like Foligno, who have done nothing.

It's gotten to the point where we raise our eyebrows if there ISN'T trade protection included in a deal. They've almost become a given with this team.

It's a negotiable point, just like term, dollars and structure.

Problem is, it doesn't seem like we are gaining too much in those areas in exchange for the trade protections.

Not really; Buffalo has been wanting to move on from Midds for a while. Byrum can't stay healthy and they have Makar.
Buffalo has Dahlin, Samuelsson, Power, Johnson and now Byram as left handed dmen. Dahlin, Samuelsson and Power are signed for at least the next SEVEN years.

It makes no sense to target Byram.

Samuelsson is out for the year, they could move Johnson as well or play someone on their off.

I've read that their plan is to play Byram on the right because he's done it in the past. Still not sure what their ultimate goal is because Byram needs a new contract after next season, but I also haven't dug into their cap space to see if it opens up for them.

I'm also not convinced Mittelstadt is someone you commit medium to big dollars to for a long amount of time.
