I would honestly claim Comtois off waivers from Carolina, put Marat into the lineup asap, and trade Duhaime and Maroon at the deadline

Kaprizov-Ek-Boldy
Zuccarello-Rossi-Hartman
Foligno-Khusnutdinov-Comtois
Shaw-Dewar-Gaudreau

Is Maroon tradable with his back surgery? Don’t they have to pass a physical? Or am I getting that confused with something else?

I assume if the other team is aware of the injury and wants to do the trade regardless, it's fine.

I'm pretty sure Nyquist was injured when Wild traded for him, if you want a recent example of it happening.

Correct, not to mention LTIR contracts getting moved every year.

alternate universe:
Hartman for a late 1st
Foligno for a late 1st

‘24-25
XX-Rossi-Kap
XX-JEE-Boldy
XX-XX-Zucc
(Marat, Freddy, Mojo, Dewy 1&2)

Brodin-Faber
Middleton-Spurgeon
Chisholm-Bogosian

+ $12-15M in cap and a bunch of draft capital

I'd say top 2 or 3. Hughes is better, and probably Seider. After that i'd definitely keep Boldy over Caufield and Zegras.

Cozens, Hughes, and Seider for sure. There are a couple others it would be a tossup with. There are lots of disappointments from that draft class so far.

If I understand you correctly, wouldn't Boldy fit this description? Picked 12th in 2019, but is widely considered one of the top 5 best players picked in that draft, maybe even top 2?
Not exactly. I am saying the vast majority of superstars that really move the needle were top 5 picks. I am not saying EVERY top 5 pick is a superstar or that players who were one of the five best in their draft are superstars. The Wild did well with Boldy but he isn't Jack Hughes is what I am saying, just like when the Wild took JEE. Homerun pick but not a superstar, they rarely come from outside the top 5 or so. Its hard to find the linchpin for a Cup contender outside of that. You would need to hit on Boldy's and JEE's every year without any Stramels and do it with a very deep team. No Lambos, Johansons. I am just saying it is hard to do.

Probably has a NTC as well if I know Guerin

It's just so unnecessary to keep giving guys like Goligoski, Bogosian, Foligno as much term+money+trade protection as he keeps giving them. I have no faith in his ability to do anything good with the 13M he'll have starting in 25-26. My assumption is he'll give Middleton 6M with a NMC and find another depth vet to give the Foligno treatment to.

I'm fine with having Bogosian back on the team, but jesus Guerin, you don't need to give everyone their first ask.

I read that he will NOT have an NTC/NMC
