Jesus Christ. The kid has played 12 NHL games after losing a year with COVID and you're giving up on him? Rossi has made no mistakes on a regular basis like Dumba so far and that's great when you think about how Dean has handled the kid the first 4 games, destroying his preseason confidence.

Yes, I'd rather see him in the AHL at the moment, playing on the top line and on the first PP Unit. just keep in mind that Rossi has lost one year to develop because of COVID. On the other hand: With so many bodies out due injury (IMO half of the wild forwards on the team right now are potential AHL Players at best to be honest): What better options do the Wild have got at center than Rossi?

I'd say play the kid as long as there are so many injuries and as long as he isn't a flaw of the team. Which he isn't right now. Rossi is not the reason why the overall defensive play of the team is so horrible, I'd blame other players before I throw the rookie in front of the bus.
I agree with most of what you say, but if Rossi is going to curl up in a little ball because he doesn't get gifted TOI w/o earning it then he won't last long in the league. You have to be physically, and mentally tough and resilient.

All sorts of guys look good in preseason, but can't carry it over to the regular season.

So this is why he struggles a bit.

Zucc to the media:
"I can't get any sleep, I have a baby at home, and on the road I have another big baby as my roommate"

Gotta put something in your ears then...

Hey all, hope all is well. Just curious on one of your players; Calen Addison.

The main thing im interested in is how many goals do You guys think this lad can get this season? (Any guess in range is appreciated, Im wondering cuz hes in the NHL game and its a seasonal event. Every time he scores irl his level goes up by 2 & 99 is the Max. Hes at 86atm. So im curious on if he can hit 99 by the end of the season. (Which is 7 more goals)

But im genuinely also curious on the player himself so can ya guys give me a rundown on him?

Cheers!

He'll pile up assists on the PP, but I don't see him being much of a goal scorer. His shot isn't anything special and he plays a pass first, keep the puck moving game as pointman on the PP.

5v5 he's playing cautious and doesn't really activate much from the blueline so he doesn't get beat badly. Goal scoring might come in a year or two as he gets more comfortable and confident in the NHL.

5-10 goals and 35-45 assists is where I have him for the season, with most of those points coming on the PP.

This is funny on so many different levels.

Kaprizov - Zuccarello - Boldy (offense)
Foligno - Eriksson Ek - Gaudreau (matchup)

Whatever combination of players make up the bottom 6 just need to survive.

This is just depressing.

That 2nd line is made up of all bottom 6ers yet we’re adding more bottom 6ers on top of bottom 6ers

That is not Rossi's character at all and I am sure you know that as well. The points will come, the offense will come. Maybe through a stint in the AHL. But he is most certainly not a sulker and does not take anything for granted at all. If anything he is resilient and mentally tough.

We’ll see. So far, he is struggling out there. I do hope he stays up for at least another 10 games, but if he shows no signs Of improvement, then he needs to go back down for a while.

The good news about all these injuries to the forwards is that it enabled us to see what we had in reserve once the spotlight was shone on them. Shaw has been a revelation...i had no idea that he would be able to play this effectively. Dewar is no surprise to me. Those two are solid 4th liners at worst, and will make a really good 4th line once Duhaime comes back. Fast, smart, tough, a bit of skill...ya, they could be bigger, but what's the saying about the size of the dog in the fight?

Cramarossa is what he is. A career AHL'er who can be called up for a few games a year in case of injury and not screw up.

Beckman isn't ready.

Rossi....jury is still out. His skillset is more sophisticated, and will take time to adapt to the NHL. Way too soon to pass judgement. Right now, i think Petan plays the same game as Rossi, and maybe better, but playing Rossi is investing in the future.

Steel is a classic tweener. Not tough or physical enough to be a 4th liner, not skilled enough to play up the lineup.

Jost. - like Steel, but worse.

With a bit of time for adjustments, Swaney and Walker would be just as good as the last two, i think. I know they've got their eye on Chaffee, also, as he's pretty strong, but i think that ship has sailed.

So with a healthy (it could happen) roster you'd have 1 FWD spot open for competition? I see the lines a little differently that you do, but it's the same players.

The lineup I see the coaches going with:
Kap/Freddy G/Zucc
Greenway/JEE/Boldy
Duhaime/Hartman/Foligno
Dewar/Shaw/ 12th FWD.

I am hoping that Rossi becomes a regular sometime this year. I think his place is beside Boldy.

If Duhaime is on the 4th they can be quite the force, IMO. If they are, no reason that Evason can't play them 13-15 minutes/game, once you factor in the PK. The fact that they are "the 4th line" is just semantics.

GREEFS go back together, if Greenway ever heals. I think Boldy is not suited to that line, even though the BEEF line is a great name.

Kap/Zucc, and Hart/Freddy

Steel/Walker/Petan are the 13th forwards this year. I think there is a possibility that Guerin picks up an older, pro type bottom sixer with a heavy game. We've got too many guys in our bottom six who don't have any physicality.
