Having thought about it, I could actually see the league allowing it and seeing out how it plays. They could be the biggest winners of all if there's a precedent set allowing teams to terminate contracts for something like this, especially without an arrest(yet). That's one big step towards non-guaranteed deals. If it's overturned, nothing really changes for them, and it's the Kings who will be doing most of the fighting. They really don't lose in this one. The only negative is the PR that a player being involved in this brings, but that was coming anyway.
Still, DL wouldn't try and hit a home run here knowing he's more likely to strike out, right? Not with the possibility of Richards fully counting towards the cap. This surely can't be about just a few pills or something, not with what's at stake.
Either way, though, DL's going to be in tough if there's no arrest IMO.
