I called it and my post was deleted.
There had to have been some evidence of distribution. There's no way this termination sticks otherwise.
I woke up today with a very different feeling about this entire thing than the day before. It all leaves a sour taste in my mouth, and I don't see how this doesn't affect the team for negative next year.
What a ****ing collapse. Typical LA Kings, though. Gave us the three best years in franchise history followed by this circus. We forgot how this works, I suppose.
There better be more to it than just that

That's fine.
Well, now what happens? Is that grounds for termination? Solly and Lombardi are lawyers...they aren't dumb.
OXY is serious and it sounds like it is also a quantity thing

They are engaged.
Not serious enough to warrant terminating his contact. If he's dealing then that's another story, but I just don't see why he wouldn't have been arrested.
Were engaged.
Oxycodon is highly addictive and dangerous, and lethal in cases where people used it recreationally.
I'm concerned for Richards and anyone else who may be on this stuff. This could really lead to a downward spiral, to the point where his career may very likely be in jeopardy.
I can see it now, LA to do random Drug test on players for 15-16.
Via the precedents, doubtful if it's simply a bottle of pills.
But I feel like we're still missing large amounts of information. Especially since, as you said, DL and Solly wouldn't have entered this knowing damn well it was frivolous. The NHL also would have advised them against it so they at least feel like there's something to it as well.
Unless it's a MAJOR quantity (which he would have been arrested for), there's zero chance his contract is terminated

Thats why the random part hahaWouldn't do any good. Cocaine is almost impossible to catch. You'd basically have to test them the very next day.
Not sure if this part of the article was posted, has more of the facts.
you are not the only one--so before you pat yourself on the back---a few of us had it--at least I PMD an LA mod to let him know--did you?
NHL officials have been notified that the Royal Canadian Mounted Police investigation into ex-L.A. Kings player Mike Richards involves the prescription drug oxycodone ... multiple sources tell TMZ Sports.
Our sources say Richards was stopped while crossing from the United States into Canada on June 17th ... and we're told he was questioned about oxycodone pills, a powerful painkiller.
For the record, Richards has NOT been charged with a crime.
The article clearly states:
Nowhere does it say anything about possession. Any comments above about possession are pure speculation at this point in time.
