They beat Ohio State. So at least they got that monkey off there back. I was hoping they would of given Georgia a more competitive game.

Biggest thing is Georgia was a matchup nightmare for Michigan in addition to just having better athletes at damn near every position. Everything Michigan likes to do is something Georgia is good at stopping. The few scant weaknesses UGA has… are the things Michigan had been the worst at.

Add in the worst timed turnover differential gaffe-fest and you get a joke of a semifinal game

If Ohio State wins tomorrow, I might set something on fire.

Michigan State wins their bowl game, hypothetical OSU win with a bunch of their top guys sitting out… and the teams I actually like losing 56-20 and 34-11. And my god, I think Michigan looked more outclassed against Georgia than EMU did vs Liberty. It felt like Georgia could have actually laid 100 on them if they kept running their first drive offense

Month layoff hurt, last night didn’t even resemble the same team that dominated Maryland, Ohio, and Iowa in the final 3 weeks of the season. Michigan got crushed in the trenches, they were strong at the line of scrimmage all year until the playoffs. Disappointing ending to a fantastic season, it was a fun ride.

This isnt an excuse or anything because I dont think it would have mattered with how Michigan played but its so annoying how the SEC never has to come north to play.

They practice all year in heat/humidity that the more northern teams, like their main competition in the Big Ten see for maybe 3 weeks of their season max. Then they have to go down there after a month layoff from games and play in that heat when they've been practicing in freezing temperatures.

Just another bias to the SEC that helps them and hurts other conferences

Aman-Ra St. Brown is on fire. He was the shining star in the shelling in Seattle. Hutch or Thibs will help the defense next season. A team of back-up heavy players still came to play despite being outmatched. No one is quitting. Holmes and MC/DC will get things done.

16 receivers taken before him, hes 4 in rookie receiving yards for receivers, 5 if you count Pitts. All of those guys were top 10 picks and St Brown did it only starting 8 games. Hes the most physical of that group and seems like a real culture type of guy too.

850 yards from scrimmage and 5 TDs is a really good season for any rookie receiver, but doing it with his development along the season and coming on strong at the end despite having Tim Boyle for a couple of those games is really impressive. He has a chance to be the best Lions draft pick in a long time

That was a nice heavyweight bout at The Yost tonight and a potential Frozen Four preview. Michigan made some great clutch plays to pull away.

As a fan of college hockey that was a great game to watch. Can't wait for the rematch tomorrow!

Thankful for the Lions cashing the easiest under-4.5 wins of all time.

I dunno if I would call that the easiest of all time. Couple record setting last play field goals, and a tie against the steelers thats a win without the worst field goal attempt ive ever seen

For the Lions #2 pick does anyone have someone they want besides Hutchinson or Thibodeaux? Kyle Hamilton from Notre Dame is a freak, he has the potential to be a top 5 safety in the league, would be happy to have him. Kid is 6’4 and moves like a wide receiver, he would neutralize and create mismatches. And not that you should draft solely for team needs, but the secondary also needs help more than the defensive line.

Anybody win any money of Jawja?

$630 in my bowl pool against the spread in all games. Tied at the end, I had Georgia he had Alabama. I also had 51 points for the tiebreaker so had that covered in a major way.

They were the best team all year, no idea why their D didn't show up in the SEC Championship but congrats to them, happy to have more in my wallet today.

I don't follow CFB that closely, and I might be crazy, but I would be considering Nakobe Dean. It seems like in every game I saw, they never stopped raving about him. It seems like every fanbase is talking about trading down to get him at where he's "expected" to go or hoping he falls to them, because they all want him.

There's a direct parallel with Roquan Smith and a less direct one with Aaron Donald. Like everyone agreed that they were going to be stars in the league, but for whatever reason people slotted them in down their draft boards. Why not just take the guy that's going to be a star at the top of the draft?

I'm not saying i agree or disagree with it but I wont be surprised if theres buzz for Kenny Pickett by draft time to be in the mix at that pick. QBs always seem to rise come draft time and he had a really good year. I expect he'll be the only guy witha chance to generate some buzz over the 2 edge guys by draft time.

I also disagree that the secondary needs more help than the D line.

Donald is reallly small for a D tackle and played weak competition that made him hard to get a good read on, there wasnt a consensus on him bein a stud at all at the time. Its not really comparable to a guy playing in the SEC and winning a Natty. I dont think the value is there to take a guy at his position all the way up at number 2 when you have really, really good guys at a premium position that is harder to find elite talent at later in the draft.

I would be fine with a trade down and get him closer to where Roquan Smith was drafted, but at 2 I'm not sure the value is there over getting a legit edge guyunder team control for 5 years

I don't see why anybody is in a hurry to lock into anything particular. A lot can happen in a few months. Let everything play out for whatever happens with the combine, interviews, and any other pre-draft details.

I mean, death not an option, I like Thibodeaux. But there are literally MONTHS of gathering info and parsing fine details between now and being on the clock.

dean really stands out. i guess the argument would be don't take a LB at 2 but if he can be a 3 down guy who can also cover tight ends and we know he can stuff the run and get sideline to sideline with ease, then why not take him. the problem with him that high may be he is only 6 foot and that makes it hard for him to cover tight ends, he would be giving up at least 5 inches to every tight end in coverage

if it was a year where the top 5 of the draft was truly elite, i wouldn't be opposed to them trading down, picking up even more picks because they need talent everywhere. i just don't think there is really an opportunity to trade down this year. take an edge defender and maybe 24 other teams hate the fact dean is 6 foot and you can get him but thats a stretch

easier to focus on the d line anyways, a great d line makes the secondary look good, and overall for the lack of talent on the back end they all played really well
