But why? Like, I get trying to be in front of the big extension... but didn't they learn their lesson on signing before it's necessary? Colt Keith has played precisely zero in MLB. This feels like putting the cart WAY WAY WAY before the horse. God, I hope Keith is a good player. The Tigers threw open the checkbook for that Keith kid.

Maybe I'm naïve, but I don't feel like that was a "miraculous collapse", as disappointed as I am. I think that game goes to show just how little has to happen for things to completely change. But why? Like, seriously though, I get being an angry Lions fan, because I am one... but what the hell kind of question was that.
"HEY, THIS THING THAT WAS A MASSIVE KICK TO THE STONESS!!! WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT IT!?"
Like, the literal only people in here that weren't disgusted with that happening are Bench and any other lunatics that actually chose to like the Packers. Quite literally, the Lions needed a miraculous collapse to occur to lose that game. And by god, they snatched defeat from the mousetrap of victory.
If you think Packers fans were rooting for the 49ers over the Lions you're a clown. One of those teams has affected us a lot more than the other.Like, the literal only people in here that weren't disgusted with that happening are Bench and any other lunatics that actually chose to like the Packers. Check in on this in like 2-3 years and we will have a better sense of how much of a detriment this game was. It easily could be the one time we got close to having a Cinderella run, but I am hopeful that it's the foundation for more to come. Some people on Twitter are saying this was worse than the Ortiz grand slam. I totally disagree. This was the beginning for the Lions while the grand slam felt like the end for the Tigers.
Right. The miraculous thing was thatMaybe I'm naïve, but I don't feel like that was a "miraculous collapse", as disappointed as I am. I think that game goes to show just how little has to happen for things to completely change.
The Lions being good had so much to do with them doing all of the little things right. Not connecting on 2 passes and having some miscommunication on 1 run completely changed the game. Those are things that happen all the time to everyone. Just terrible timing to have those slight miscues at the worst time
I wasn't saying that. I was saying that you have a level of dissociation from the collapse. Like if the Packers had lost like that "Shit, that sucks, bro" is what you'd get from me. But beacuse it is my team I'm the doomiest and gloomiest mother f***er there is today. If you think Packers fans were rooting for the 49ers over the Lions you're a clown. We literally lost like that last week to the 49ersI wasn't saying that. I was saying that you have a level of dissociation from the collapse. We already have a Packers/Wings fan on here, don’t think we can handle two of you guys.We literally lost like that last week to the 49ers
As if today was the day I decided to make my Packers fandom known. We already have a Packers/Wings fan on here, don’t think we can handle two of you guys.
I guess I don't pay attention, or you are probably just less annoying than that other Packers fan who posts here... forget their name.As if today was the day I decided to make my Packers fandom known.
Going up 3 possessions on that drive would've been huge. You go up 3 possessions with a FG or a TD. Instead they get the ball and boom TDHmm... crazy he doesn't mention they were 20/25 (80%) on 4th and 3 or less on the season.
Surely that wasn’t important to mention.
Yeah I don't know, that's all fair. It's just...Going up 3 possessions on that drive would've been huge. You go up 3 possessions with a FG or a TD. Instead they get the ball and boom TD
Fumble boom TD
Tie game.
Also IIRC that was a really long 3
I agree with you on that, that's their MO so I get it. I didn't like the call live and it's all I thought about after they got the quick 14 points.Yeah I don't know, that's all fair. It's just...
You played a certain way all year, playing that way got you this far, you have converted in theses situations all year, you have a great OC you are supremely confident in in these situations...
I see the thought process for them going for it. It sucks they didn't convert on either one.
Definitely low. On Saturday night San Jose was Lions country. Every bar, restaurant and street. I think Lions boosted San Jose this weekend. It was a ghost town Sunday night. Not even the Niners fans were out after the game.I read estimates had it at like 20% lions fans getting tickets, but then I started reading Delta had to open new flights and saw videos of all the planes full of people going and 20% seems low
He's an easy scapegoat, and boy is he being scapegoated hard today. If there's one guy who can handle it though, it's probably him. But I agree, not kicking a FG is mostly a hindsight thing. How was anyone to know of the errors, bad luck, and lack of execution that was to come in the following 8-10 minutes? This wasn't Campbell's fault.
He mentions that the kicker is 7/9 from 40-49 (78%) and then proceeds to act like it was a given. Also acts like going up 3 scores would have put it away, when the 49ers proceeded to score 4 times anyway.Hmm... crazy he doesn't mention they were 20/25 (80%) on 4th and 3 or less on the season.
Surely that wasn’t important to mention.
I would like to dig deeper but someone I trust and does not pull b.s. from his rear crunched data and said from the distances of the potential FG attempts the Lions are more successful converting than Bagdley is in his career from said distances. This wasn't Campbell's fault.
