The Tigers threw open the checkbook for that Keith kid.
But why? Like, I get trying to be in front of the big extension... but didn't they learn their lesson on signing before it's necessary? Colt Keith has played precisely zero in MLB. This feels like putting the cart WAY WAY WAY before the horse. God, I hope Keith is a good player.

Who am i? An angry Lions fan. I thought it was f***in trash

Like, seriously though, I get being an angry Lions fan, because I am one... but what the hell kind of question was that.

"HEY, THIS THING THAT WAS A MASSIVE KICK TO THE STONESS!!! WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT IT!?"

Like, the literal only people in here that weren't disgusted with that happening are Bench and any other lunatics that actually chose to like the Packers. Quite literally, the Lions needed a miraculous collapse to occur to lose that game. And by god, they snatched defeat from the mousetrap of victory.

Maybe I'm naïve, but I don't feel like that was a "miraculous collapse", as disappointed as I am. I think that game goes to show just how little has to happen for things to completely change.

The Lions being good had so much to do with them doing all of the little things right. Not connecting on 2 passes and having some miscommunication on 1 run completely changed the game. Those are things that happen all the time to everyone. Just terrible timing to have those slight miscues at the worst time

If you think Packers fans were rooting for the 49ers over the Lions you're a clown. One of those teams has affected us a lot more than the other.

Some people on Twitter are saying this was worse than the Ortiz grand slam. I totally disagree. This was the beginning for the Lions while the grand slam felt like the end for the Tigers.

Check in on this in like 2-3 years and we will have a better sense of how much of a detriment this game was. It easily could be the one time we got close to having a Cinderella run, but I am hopeful that it's the foundation for more to come.

Right. The miraculous thing was that
* Sure-handed Reynolds dropped an open pass
* Vildor tipped a possible INT up for a 51 yard bomb on an overthrown ball
* Gibbs ran the wrong side of Goff and fumbled.

And that all of these happened in the space of like three minutes. That's the miraculous nature of it. Honestly, the Aiyuk reception is the shit that nightmares are made of.

I wasn't saying that. I was saying that you have a level of dissociation from the collapse. Like if the Packers had lost like that "Shit, that sucks, bro" is what you'd get from me. But beacuse it is my team I'm the doomiest and gloomiest mother f***er there is today.

Ben Johnson is such a good play caller/OC, I’ll be curious to see if someone hires him as HC this offseason. Was listening to someone break down the game and they said that game yesterday was some of the best play calling/scheming by anyone all year. They said Detroit knew what defense SF was in every play except 1 or 2 plays.

I also saw the stat that the Lions converted 80% of the 4th and 3 or less they had this year (20/25). Hard to be mad at those decisions to go for it, especially when one was a straight up drop.

We literally lost like that last week to the 49ers

I love Dan Campbell but his "aggressive" reckless play calling cost us that game. He made a BUNCH do questionable decisions in the second half...

As if today was the day I decided to make my Packers fandom known.
I guess I don't pay attention, or you are probably just less annoying than that other Packers fan who posts here... forget their name.

As long as a 3rd doesn't come out of the woodworks, I guess that's OK.

Hmm... crazy he doesn't mention they were 20/25 (80%) on 4th and 3 or less on the season.

Surely that wasn’t important to mention.
Going up 3 possessions on that drive would've been huge. You go up 3 possessions with a FG or a TD. Instead they get the ball and boom TD
Fumble boom TD
Tie game.

Also IIRC that was a really long 3

Edit: it's all situational imo, a FG to go up 17 is way more important in the grand scheme of things than a FG when you have a 3 or 10 point lead. Going up 3 drives worth of scores in the 3rd is a big momentum thing, getting a stop on 4th to be able to go down and make it a 1 score game is a momentum thing.

Yeah I don't know, that's all fair. It's just...

You played a certain way all year, playing that way got you this far, you have converted in theses situations all year, you have a great OC you are supremely confident in in these situations...

I see the thought process for them going for it. It sucks they didn't convert on either one.

I agree with you on that, that's their MO so I get it. I didn't like the call live and it's all I thought about after they got the quick 14 points.

I read estimates had it at like 20% lions fans getting tickets, but then I started reading Delta had to open new flights and saw videos of all the planes full of people going and 20% seems low
Definitely low. On Saturday night San Jose was Lions country. Every bar, restaurant and street. I think Lions boosted San Jose this weekend. It was a ghost town Sunday night. Not even the Niners fans were out after the game.

I'd like to see the actual numbers for Sunday. There was at least 3 gigantic Lions tailgates. Some of the sections in both lower and upper bowls had more Lions than Niners fans. It was not like when the Lions went to SoFi in '21 but still impressive.

Saturday until after HT was amazing. Despite the loss I am happy I went. Met lots of awesome people. Even Lions fans that came just to tailgate because they were from CA and never had the chance to interact with other Lions fans.

This wasn't Campbell's fault.
He's an easy scapegoat, and boy is he being scapegoated hard today. If there's one guy who can handle it though, it's probably him. But I agree, not kicking a FG is mostly a hindsight thing. How was anyone to know of the errors, bad luck, and lack of execution that was to come in the following 8-10 minutes?

He mentions that the kicker is 7/9 from 40-49 (78%) and then proceeds to act like it was a given. Also acts like going up 3 scores would have put it away, when the 49ers proceeded to score 4 times anyway.

Prolonging the possession and still ending up 3 would have been huge there. I feel like criticizing that one is a shitty opinion going off of only the result and ignoring the last 30 games that got us to where we are.

I would like to dig deeper but someone I trust and does not pull b.s. from his rear crunched data and said from the distances of the potential FG attempts the Lions are more successful converting than Bagdley is in his career from said distances.

People love to talk about MC/DC's machismo and balls but he is not throwing caution to the wind recklessly. He knows what he's working with and trusts the offense more than Bagdley.
