That guy who sat out Game 7 cuz his leg was bruised lmao. Should've played like a man.Diving and tantrums. Great player but his refusal to play like a man is a disgrace to the sport.

What hyperbole. Go watch mid-'80's video of Lemieux getting mauled nightly. Want to see a playoff "slash", cue Adam Graves. He does NOT dive. To his fault, he fights through more infractions than any player in League history and it’s not even close.
He didn’t carry any team anywhere, while is “200 foot game” is greatly over exaggerated. He was a beast. The fact that others were also beasts doesn't mean history has been re-written. Only issue I have with that post is that he didn't solely carry the team on his back. Otherwise, it's spot on.
It’s not hard for anyone to explain what makes Crosby an all time great.
He is probably the player who dives the least in the league compared to the abuse he receives. Also his skating is so fast that when he does get clipped it can look dramatic.Diving and tantrums. Great player but his refusal to play like a man is a disgrace to the sport.
Yeh those weren’t infractions back then. Different era. What hyperbole. Go watch mid-'80's video of Lemieux getting mauled nightly. Want to see a playoff "slash", cue Adam Graves.

Why was Graves suspended for the rest of the series then?Yeh those weren’t infractions back then. Different era.
Per the NHLPA 2023-2024 player poll: Who is the most complete player?-Sure it is. That’s why there’s so many make believe tales and what if nonsense when it comes to him. His retroactive “excellent two-way” play myth is a prime example of his story being embellished because he doesn’t carry enough individual achievements, trophies, or anything that resembles Gretzky and Lemieux, like what McDavid has been doing.
How can someone be described as carrying his team to back to back Cups when he didn’t lead them in playoff scoring either year, scored 1 goal and 11 points in 12 SCF games, and was -2 and +4 for a team that was +19 and +21?
It's not pure envy, you sound defensive. So like the first reply, it's envy. Pure envy
Per the NHLPA 2023-2024 player poll: Who is the most complete player?-
Sidney Crosby continues to check all the boxes for fellow NHLPA members as the most complete player. The Pittsburgh Penguins captain takes the category yet again – marking the fifth consecutive season he has outright won or tied atop the category – this time with 226 votes to increase his hold by 48 votes (8.27%) since last season.
He came in second to McDavid on this poll question:
If you need to win one game, who is the forward you want on your team?
Not bad for a guy who just wrapped his 19th season.
But you're spot on, Sid sure is lacking in the individual achievement/trophy department:
three Stanley Cups (2009, 2016, 2017)
two Conn Smythe Trophies (2016, 2017)
three Ted Lindsay Awards (2007, 2013, 2014)
two Hart Memorial Trophies (2007, 2014)
two Art Ross Trophies (2007, 2014)
two Maurice Richard Trophies (2010, 2017)
Mark Messier Leadership award (2010)
Lou Marsh Trophy as Canada’s Athlete of the Year in 2009.
Member of the Triple Gold Club (Gold medal in Olympics, World Championships, Stanley Cup Champion) and ONLY club member to have captained all three teams.
Like you said, this is all make believe and embellishment. Obviously an international conspiracy. Video Nasty and his ledger of +/- points is all that really matters.
Best not to give up the day job, pal.No one cares about the bolded. If he had more hardware, you wouldn’t feel the need to add them.
Here, let me add another while we’re at it:
Witch Weekly’s Most Charming Smile Award (5 times).
Have you perhaps thought of why they do it?It's not pure envy, you sound defensive.
It might have something to do with media, game broadcasts and commercials shoving a certain player in your face everytime you tune in to something hockey related even if that player or his team has nothing to do with that day's news cycle. There's a saturation point for some fans which Crosby surpassed by like his third year in the league. Hate toward Crosby was much worse than it is for McDavid.
I can't speak for others, but I like McDavid and enjoy wat hing him play. Maybe it's because he is in Canada and out west, but I don't think the hockey media (that I have regular access to) is hyping him non-stop as they did Crosby. Thank goodness for that. Hopefully the existance of McDavid will keep the Bedard hype train at a reasonable place, because that got off to an obnoxiously loud start.
Thanks for the hint. Totally endears that player to me now and in no way makes him easier to dislike.Have you perhaps thought of why they do it?
Hint: It’s not meant for people like you or I who will watch regardless..
Envy for the best ......quite commonSadly, that would require not being a mod.
McDavid is not my kind of player anyway, just like Crosby wasn't.
its the team hes on, same reason why Matthews is hated as much as he is. some fans just dont like certain teams and have a hard time giving them credit.
McDavid is beyond insane. the only thing I really argue about him if him automatically being placed above one or two of Gretzky, Orr, Lemieux, Howe. or atleast being the 5th all time. its just too early in his career to put him there. imo
Orr was a Dman and many including my Dad view him as The Great One over Gretzky. so I guess depending who you talk to but likely not passing Orr on the All-Time list anytime soonMcDavid has already played roughly as many games as Bobby Orr did.
Unless he becomes utterly useless from here on out - like Bobby Orr was - then it's pretty much zero chance he isn't above Orr all time. Not on any rational basis anyway.
