Mainly just a lurker but I think most people saw a huge night coming for him after "only" 1 point.
STAY LURKING! NEVER COME BACK! SAVE YOURSELF!

Meh. Laugh all you want this is why he won’t come close to 150. You really cannot afford to have 1 point on a night
Hello sir, has McDavid afforded that 1 point game yet? He only had 5 tonight, should he have had 6?Meh. Laugh all you want this is why he won’t come close to 150. You really cannot afford to have 1 point on a night
Well the Oilers PP is def red hot, he could see some negative regression there. On the other hand his 5on5 on ice shooting % is 8.8. Prior to last season he was always between 10-11%, so he could potentially see some positive regression there.I don’t know about analytics or PDO or whatever, but for a player that is pacing for 150-something odd points, you would think that everything has gone right for McDavid.
Weird thing is, it just seems like he’s playing as expected.
I understand players have a huge compilation of almost goals and team mates missing empty nets off a pass, but I swear this isn’t a one off highlight season. I think he’s scratching the surface and his play is sustainable. And he’s still hitting a lot of post, empty nets and passing to players occasionally and having them not bury.

Lol yeah okay.He needs to change somethings about his game before he can truly be considered the best.

Now photoshop the Leafs into the 2nd round. He needs to change somethings about his game before he can truly be considered the best.

Nuge is a huge part of that powerplay. It's noticeable when he is not on itThe Oilers PP from 2019 to today is by far the best PP of the cap era and arguably the strongest PP of all time. McDavid and Draisaitl deserve insane credit for running that -- the defenceman (Barrie, Bouchard, Klefbom) and the net-front guy (Hyman, Chiasson, Kane, Neal, Puljujarvi) have been completely replaceable. Pulling those results with just two superstars is absurd.
The low PPO era has arguably kept down McDavid's dominance, with more penalties being called this season McDavid's dominance will be even higher than it was before. Hi
the clown always disappears
He’s going to tell us he was too busy “grinding” and reading books to answer us mere mortals tonightevery time you try to diss or discredit him he has a massive game
"I'm never wrong"
LMAO 4 point night

He will stop at 154 out of fear of the Yzerplan.Hope he makes it and in my wildest dreams I hope he gets 156. Would give him the most points in a season in NHL history other than 66&99.
Out of everyone on this list, every player scored more than 140 points. Gretzky had 142 in 73 (159/82 pace) and Jagr had 149, which were the "worst" seasons on the list. Everyone else scored at least 150.Up to 59 points in 30 games.
Some think that a player who has scored 562 points over his last 349 regular season games, a 1.61 PPG clip, and owns a career average of 1.46 PPG that is still only going up, is going to only score at a 1.365 PPG clip and tally 71 points in his final 52 games to top out at 130 points this year.
Mind boggling.
He’s lowered his needed PPG for the remainder of the season to 1.75 PPG to hit 150.
Scoring hasn't been this easy since the 80s.McDavid has 48 points in his last 23 games.
Marner on his 23 game point streak? 32.
Makes that streak look like nothing and pretty unimpressive lol.

I’ve watched most every game he’s played in the league.
The biggest difference this season seems like a really simple one, but it’s led to more goals than ever before.
He’s “learned” to shoot five hole. He isn’t always trying to pick the corner anymore. For years he’s sniped goals on the corners but this year his five hole shots are catching goalies off guard because he’s rarely shot there before.
This is the kind of informed, interesting response that drew me to this board in the first place. Thanks!!I’ve watched most every game he’s played in the league.

He’ll just start shooting high again once goalies overcompensate.Secrets out. Incoming cold streak.
