Wtf I thought schenn was a dman in high demand ??? How did Kyle dweebass get him and a guy who had 40-45 back to back pt seasons for a 4th and bunting lol

Am I missing something??? I would have taken schenn at essentially the price of a 4th rounder

I’d be shocked if they don’t retain and flip him. Probably going to get traded wherever his brother is going and just waiting to finalize that deal.

I don’t know what Trotz is doing though. Novak was pretty good and I’d say a fair bit more useful than Bunting.

But why didn't Nashville just retain and flipp schenn? This deal makes zero sense to me lol ... hasn't bunting been on a bunch of teams already?

Bunting and Novak 1 for 1 trade you can argue would make more sense then you throw in the schenn and a 5th and it's essentially schenn for a 5th

Now you like said dweebass will flipp schenn at 50% for a 2nd or watch him actually get a 1st off a cash strapped contender lol ... I just dont get it

Hopefully they save us some trades for tomorrow's deadline to get confused about lol

Guys I'd try and target without losing a first-round pick.
Scott Laughton: Lots of interest, physical gritty guy, "alright" center. Whispers of 1st round picks but, imo, he'll get moved closer to watch Frederic was moved for. Sort of a buy low move.

Another guys is Nico Sturm. 4th liner who wins face-offs, help out the PK, buy low.

More band-aids over bulletholes hey? Meh.

You know a center available for the long haul? Market is what it is, I can't force teams to put premiere players on the table at the TDL.

I guess it also depends on if you think the Red Wings need a band-aid right now or are they all good for the rest of this playoff push???

I wouldn't give up a 1st rdp or major prospects for those guys, but I'd call and try. For whatever reason I think Laughton could do well and maybe better than Copp with DeBrincat/Kane. He'd bring some physical chippyness/grit to a team with almost none.

*ALSO; Yzerman can blast Tarasenko to Florida any moment now. We're cool with helping other playoff teams so there's not a huge reason to not ship him out unless it's Florida that doesn't want him. 6th rdp, 7th, future considerations, whatever. Teams better with the open roster spot/money. Straight up.

I'm not sure anyone is going to want Tank. He's been horrid this year and has an extra year left. We'd probably have to do what Seattle did with Gourde to get anyone to take him. Hold for 50 and then get another team to hold for 25. Not to mention the NTC which allows him to pick where he goes.

I mean at this point its more about the spot than the cap space, but I just don't know if we are going to find the situation to dump him.

As for other deals I agree. I have no issue spending a couple of lower round picks to maybe pick up a 4c or even 3rd d. This is a relatively young team, and the optics of buying anything might do a lot for confidence.
