McDavid heating up, what are odds on 150 points this season?

This is slightly more reasonable than the other comment above, so I'll give you kudos.

Surely you can acknowledge that the Oilers have underserved McDavid (and by extension, hockey in general). No?
What do you want me to say?

The Oilers managerial woes have been beaten to death ad nauseum in dozens of threads here over the years.
In the past 2-3 years though,
Holland has managed to pick up some really nice core pieces in Hyman, Kane, and now Ekholm.
The drafting outside the first round is finally paying dividends in guys like Skinner, Mcleod, Desharnais.
The Oilers have finally moved to over 50% goal share at 5v5 and are now top ten in most advanced stats.
The bottom six has gone from like 40% goal share to over 50%.
The Oilers are coming off a western conference finals appearance.

And here you are in a thread about the individual accomplishments of McDavid, trying to take a negative dump on managerial mistakes made 5 years ago. I really have to question your motives here.

Really seems like you are crying crocodile tears.

He's been effortlessly averaging 2ppg the on his recent tear. He likely hits 158 points if I had to guess

And they finished 1,2 and 4 in scoring!

I was going to say +10 when putting up 161 points just looks soo wrong, but then I remembered that Mario put up more powerplay points than most players accumulate for their season totals. Just insane. Jamie Benn/Stan Mikita barely won the Art Ross over Mario's best powerplay season total. Different era but that still blows my mind.

Yeah but you're forgetting about blocked shots in Tuesday night home games with 8:30PM starts when the moon is full! Matthews crushes McDavid there!
...I'm super curious about who would win this stat now....somebody want to pull the data?

How crazy is it to suggest, and it's a testament to just how great he is, that if he doesn't get to 156, it'd kind of be disappointing.

I really want this season to go down as the most productive non-Wayne/Mario season...

He's putting up stupid numbers and American sports media would rather talk about college basketball (yes I realize it's March Madness), baseball (not in season yet) or Tom Brady hanging out with Mr. Beast.

It's unforgivable how much this league is slept on.

Huge props to McDavid. He is a machine, plain and simple. I want to see this guy break more records and win cups!

Ovechkin is probably the greatest goal scorer ever and it took him 13 seasons to win.

Legendary captain and leader Steve Yzerman was considered a choker and he didn't win until his 13th season.

Wayne Gretzky himself couldn't win another cup after leaving those legendary Oilers teams.

Some of these LOL MCDAVID HASN'T WON YET takes are absolutely ludicrous. You're watching one of the greatest ever do his thing and put up a historical season that you might not see again for another 30 years. Winning will come.
They make that argument without even recognizing the teams that won those cups, it wasn't just those players. None of those players would have ever won even one Stanley Cup on the rosters the Oilers have had. The Oilers are coming around though. This is one of the best rosters the Oilers will enter the playoffs with in many years, although the bar is pretty low.

Really hoping he passes Stevie Y’s 155. Guy seems like he’s dull as dish water, but what a player. Good luck to him and to Oilers fans. Nice to have this talent in the league!
