10th game winning goal of the season. 60 goals and 138 points in 72 games. Has collected at least a point in 45 out of his last 48 games and has been held scoreless just 7 times.

His current season split evenly into thirds looks like this:

First 24 games: 19 goals 24 assists for 43 points

Next 24 games: 21 goals 24 assists for 45 points

Last 24 games: 20 goals 30 assists for 50 points

Needs 2 points in final 10 games to hit 140.
Needs 12 points in final 10 games to hit 150.

Point #138 moves him into a tie with Coffey for 27th most in a season. His next two points will see him eclipse the career highs of Orr and Stastny and move into sole possession of 25th most ever and just the 10th player in history to hit 140.

No , Playing D has nothing to do with skill which Mario had plenty , D is all effort.

And once again, he improves his pace as the season goes on when most taper off

No one’s gonna mention that he purposely stayed away from shooting five hole to keep goalies around the league honest? The guy thinks like three steps ahead.

Reactions: Calderon
Looking back at the first failed attempt to score in overtime it seems like McDavid might have some serious anger issues. This can't be healthy for the long run even if that anger fuels him to score more. Hopefully he'll make it to 2000 career points before he snaps.

What does he need to do to pass Yzerman/Sakic? Or has he?
As a player he's already in the running for best of all time and ahead of everyone not named Gretzky and Lemieux,. As a sportsman (which includes championships) he's obviously behind.

He needs a cup I'd say ! :stanley:
Hopefully with a new team he has a measure of success. He deserved much better than starting his career with Edmonton.
