It's not "the knee". It's Matthew "Turtle" Tkachuk, as Toronto fans will find out the next time these two teams play.

Why would you encourage violence?

Because for all their egocentric thinking, humans are no different than animals. In the animal kingdom, when someone crosses a line, guess how they deal with it? Humans do have reasoning and they might use it but those humans need for things like league officials to show that they will take action. Don't take action and you leave it to the law of the jungle. Do take a firm stance and you give them a chance to use their reasoning. Most people on HF Boards don't get it but shots to the back of the head are one of the most dangerous things you can do. You can hurt/kill someone quite easily. I boxed and coached boxing for years and I will tell you right now nothing hurts like that. There's a reason why in MMA you can elbow or knee someone square to the face but can't hit them in the back of the head.

Don't want violence? Man up and deliver a message through the law (disciplinary committee).

The difference between Flames fan takes in this thread vs the tales in their own thread which are
much less flattering to Tkachuk is entertaining.

Sometimes you forget that the most vocal main board fans aren’t always a good barometer of a fan base.
That's the case with every fan base. Most leave the bashing of their own players to their teams' sub forums while the main boards are for praising and defending your guys to the death.

If it was someone else I think I'd give him the benefit of the doubt but Tkachuk, nah. I don't think they'll really look at it because no matter what common sense tells you, you can't prove it's intentional.

I thought he intentionally drive his knee into the back of his neck as well. I figured that was my bias, so I showed it to some non-leaf fans and they seemed to think the same thing.

I don’t think it’ll get a suspension, or a fine, but it’s an incredibly cowardly play.

Will be interesting to watch tomorrow night  I’m sure Simmonds and Tkachuk will exchange some words

When this comes down as not a suspension, does HF need a refresher course, and what is and what isn't suspension worthy?

Not saying what he did wasn't intentional (I am not saying it was either), or that he isn't a questionable player but hockey is a physical game, and penalties are sometimes missed by officials.

If Toronto thinks what he did was on purpose, then they can do what they used to do not too long ago, settle it on the ice.

Sometimes I think the wiser action is to not do anything to the perpetrator, rather target one of his undeserving teammates. Then his teammates can sort it out with him. So long as he knows the why.
