Hey it's a good quality! I, too, will eat crow whenever necessary (and I challenge anyone on here to find any time over the last 25 years of my posting here to say otherwise).

Seriously appreciate that.

You just called for Rempe to be kicked out of the league a bit ago.

You mean the one where he jumped off the bench after Rempe was being escorted off the ice?

You sure you saw the game?

All of them, hopefully. It's glorious.

MacDermid? You mean the guy standing near his own bench when Hischier was out challenging Rempe?

That same guy? Rempe should be worried about the guy who'd let his captain fight Rempe? Really?

Just want to put this all in one spot. Somewhere in here he was shown a video of Mcd being on the ice at the time of the hit. I bet you can guess between which comments.

Ranger fans celebrating this guys headshots while their skill guy Chytil career basically over due to concussions. Keep on cheering.

Strange world.

Rempe ducked any opportunities to answer the bell. Pretty sure that isn't the definition of tough.
Chytil wasn't taken out by Rempe tier hits though, Filip is unfortunately, genetically, built to not take hits well no matter how clean or dirty they are deemed to be.

I'll be your Huckleberry. Let's play Devil's Advocate here and say I agree he should've fought MacDermid for the sake of it. Who cares, lets say that. Fine.

What does that have to do with MacDermid not being anywhere near Rempe after the hit and the only guy near him and challenging him being Hischier?

Stop acting like whether he fought MacDermid or not earlier in the game would matter, here. It wouldn't. At all.

All you're doing is try to obscure the issue, here. The issue is you guys had a skill line on the ice and Hischier was the dude challenging Rempe to fight. MacDermid was over by his own bench. You guys seem to have a death wish for the guy or something.
FFS, nobody is saying that the linesmen should’ve let him fight Hischier, so that’s not the issue here. Convenient of Rempe to pull this shit and injure a player while NJ’s skill line is in the ice so he doesn’t have to face any consequences.

And it's completely fair to respond, too. Like, I GET going out there and getting some guys to respond. We did after the Wilson crap. It's comical that some Devils fans (not you - like Whiskey, you're one of my favorites on here) were lambasting the Rangers for that but were cool with picking up MacDermid. Just SS, DD.

I *HATE* the hit Rempe threw tonight. It was really bad and should be a solid suspension. Heck, I'll actually be pissed if he gets less than 4 games (though the troll in me . . .).

I just don't get what some fans wanted the Devils guys on the ice to do after that hit. MacDermid was either on the bench and jumped onto the ice or was basically on the boards. Rempe is mixed up with Hischier and I think Bratt a bit. MacDermid just yelling at him from way away.

I don't get it. I don't get why anyone would want Rempe to fight Hischier or Bratt. Like, MacDermid was not going to get at him (hence why he got kicked out of the game). He wasn't anywhere near him. It's so bizarre that people can't even acknowledge that. I am very glad that Rempe didn't punch Hischier or Bratt (but especially Hischier).
That would have been a penalty.

He may have been - doesn't explain why he was basically on the bench and yelling at Rempe from the boards. Where was he in the mix? He was off to the side near no one. I assumed he had jumped back onto the ice off the bench to get the game misconduct. He was being held over on the boards, by the refs, anyway.

He's just yapping at Rempe as Rempe is being taken off the ice. That's literally all he did. The only guys even chipping at Rempe were Hischier (I think Bratt may have shoved him softly once, too).

Again, he may *HAVE* been on the ice. He was still over by the boards and nowhere near the action. I originally thought he was kicked out of the game for jumping onto the ice after the play since he was just yapping over by the bench/boards.

I mean, he certainly wasn't kicked out of the game for doing anything to Rempe or anyone else, lol.

The Bastian hit was absolutely dirty. Head was the principle point of contact, and he came from the blind side.
That hit was solid. I fully agree it looked bad live (and I even thought it was suspension-worthy at first - I initially said 1-3 games), but upon replay it was definitely clean.

It was always going to be head contact due to the size of Rempe. Sorry, but that's why he wasn't suspended. You can't fix height. A guy that big will always hit a head if the head is anywhere forward.

The blind side as in like directly straight on? That hit was textbook clean.
Yeah, hard to be a blind side hit from the f***ing front.

Imagine thinking the softest team in the league went out and got some toughness because of a 4th line plug who won't be in the league next year.

Bud the Devils have been getting manhandled all season lol
Its gonna be great when the devs have to carry kurtis macdermid next year because matt rempe is an nhl regular. Like it or not, hes here to stay

Who here is celebrating this hit?

Who here thinks that this was a good hit?

Why are you just actively making stuff up? This is one of many posts saying the same thing. Anyone praising this hit is unhinged. It was a bad, bad hit. Who here thinks this was a good hit?

Also, once again, you seem to think he should've fought Hischier (MacDermid was basically on the bench when Hischier was in the middle of it trying to get at Rempe). What good would come from that? Why do you wish that upon Hischier?

Quite a few examples in this thread go read back this thread.

Some of you guys so proud of Rempe living in NJD head playing like this, meanwhile you got a guy on your sidelines with a career ending concussion issues. It's a lot of cognitive dissonance.

This kind of play is trash.

Lyubushkin was clear charge not called. This was clear elbow chicken wing shit. Bastian hit was a beeline hit as well. Rempe is building up his reputation as a zero respect player and eventually it will catch up to him.

Ahh, there we go. So MacDermid just went wide around both refs and lets the refs bring him over to the boards. That's even weirder than I initially thought.

I don't get what the f*** MacDermid was even doing. Comical. He got kicked for being an idiot, I guess. What is he even thinking? He then lets Hischier and Bratt jump in after he's nowhere near Rempe anymore.

I have no problem admitting I was wrong - especially when it's funnier than I thought.

At the end of the day, Matt Rempe will be suspended for this hit. He should be. Should be 4-5 games with an outside shot at 7-10.

Also, the Devils have a lot of soul searching to do. If the main guy to challenge Rempe after that hit was Hischier, it says more about the Devils than anything else. I keep hearing about MacDermid, but the guy was practically on the bench when Hischier was in the middle of it with Rempe.

Now, I hope they continue to make bad/dumb moves and acquire players like MacDermid. Let them do the same dumb shit we did after the Wilson inciden
Hischier was the main guy challenging Rempe because he pulled this with a skill line on the ice? Who else was going to step up immediately after the hit - Bratt?

Such an idiotic point you keep trying to make. MacDermid was after him within a couple seconds and he hid behind the linesman.

Thanks for that. Appreciate it since most would never admit that and just double down (hence my frustration, lmao)
Keep going.

What a dumb hit. I really dislike going for massive hit during redline dump in during the regular season, it's so unnecessary.

So, I'll say the same thing to you I did to the other guy:

- - -

I was actually giving MacDermid the benefit of the doubt. I figured he had just jumped on. Not making a 40-foot swing around Rempe and then going over to the boards.

macdermid is by the boads in the top right, watch as he goes straight to Rempe.

The Broadcast even says "Referee's are going to catch Macdermid".
