macdermid is by the boads in the top right, watch as he goes straight to Rempe.

The Broadcast even says "Referee's are going to catch Macdermid".

So, I'll say the same thing to you I did to the other two guys:

So MacDermid just went wide around both refs and lets the refs bring him over to the boards. That's even weirder than I initially thought.

I don't get what the f*** MacDermid was even doing. Comical. He got kicked for being an idiot, I guess. What is he even thinking? He then lets Hischier and Bratt jump in after he's nowhere near Rempe anymore.

I have no problem admitting I was wrong - especially when it's funnier than I thought.

- - -

I was actually giving MacDermid the benefit of the doubt. I figured he had just jumped on. Not making a 40-foot swing around Rempe and then going over to the boards. Kind of comical he ended up getting kicked out while doing nothing.

"Hey it's a good quality! I, too, will eat crow whenever necessary (and I challenge anyone on here to find any time over the last 25 years of my posting here to say otherwise).

Seriously appreciate that."

Prove it. Tell me the first person to skate in Rempe's direction.

Unfortunately, the only way to solve this if the league won't step in is to step up the physicality and make these kind of hits when the teams meet again.

He's going to get reigned in one way or the other - the Rangers will tell him to settle down when a Rags skill player is hurt by an equally useless player on an opposing team.

Good. Do it. Let's jumpstart an otherwise dying rivalry. This rivalry has been boring as f*** for ages, now.

At least the Islanders rivalry had a pulse.

He's in full damage control now, I'm trying but it's not gunna happen lol.

I mean, I've actually gladly admitted I was wrong (since it was somehow funnier), so . . . ok?

Just admit you were wrong and move on with your night.

It's getting embarrassing.

So he should have steamrolled through the Ref's?

Dunno, thought the playoff series last year was mighty fine for the rivalry don't you bud?

I already did multiple times. How many more times do I need to type that I was wrong? Or can you not read the direct quote above that you even quoted? I was wrong. It doesn't explain why MacDermid is 50 feet away from Rempe when Hischier is in his face.

Yeah, but it's a shame we won't see it repeated this year, right bud?

Nico was not challenging rempe LOL. I dont know if rempe even realize that gnat tried to push him. Talk about classless? Nico and timo intentionally falling on igors legs in the playoffs with pure intent to injure and not answering the bell when trocheck challenged nico. Timo got his wig split by trouba so he learned his lesson at least
That was last years playoffs man.

Sounds like Meier and Hischier are in your head.

Embarrassing takes by Rags fans
To be fair, most all of them seem to have a decent perspective on it. Love to hate the team and the fans, but for the most part not much issue with anything most are saying. Just the one guy who hates when people can't admit when they are wrong....

Yeah, I kind of do. If Rempe threw that hit as a Devil and hit, say, Fox?

I'd want whoever we had who could throw them skating through anyone to get to him. Are you kidding?

Maybe that's the difference between the teams at this point. That's exactly what the Rangers would do for one of their players. That you think this would be a bad thing is a reflection on the team's culture.

I've been around a long time, very familiar with the poster - and let's just say even for him, this might be his opus lol

You mean the same guy calling for Rempe to be suspended more than probably most other Rangers fans?

The same guy who's said over and over that was a dirty as hell hit?

Yeah. I do have a decent perspective.

Truly in rare form.

Plenty about the Rangers to like this year. Weird to die on this hill supporting a plug throwing reckless hits at a time when the league is especially concerned about long term damage associated with head hits.

You mean the same kid the team loves? The same guy who has defied odds and made the show after changing his game entirely (he was looked at as a big guy with some skill as a young guy in before he went to the W)? The guy who hasn't thrown a dirty hit in my view before this?

I have no problem defending a guy like that. Zero.

This is a clear difference between the teams' cultures.

Again I say, I can’t wait for the Rempe circus side show to run its course. Sick of seeing him running around cheapshotting people

“In my view” clearly has a minority point of view. His AHL 96 PIM doesn’t make him out to be the alter boy you keep incessantly citing in this OP either.

That type of play is NOT needed in today’s or the even the rougher NHL I’ve watched for over 60 years.

Yeah, but he's also trying to make a name for himself and stick around. He needs to learn. This was a legitimately bad hit. I mean, you saw a guy in here saying he wanted the league to throw the guy out, lol. You can't make this stuff up.

He hasn't had ANY other (than this one) dirty hits up here. I mean, none.

I've actually never seen a player get into Islanders' and Devils' fans heads this fast. At least not in my long time of watching the NHL.

He needs to take lessons from Trouba in how to properly destroy people.
I don’t think he’s in anyone’s head. He’s an AHLer who doesn’t know how to control himself. At least Avery could score a bit. Rempe is a joke
