Everyone would want this player on their team making these hits.

I'm sorry to Siegenthaler that he got injured.

I also want Rempe to keep playing like this, and maybe just don't do something stupid in the playoffs where it could lose us a game.

Rempe is a feared player in this league, and for a rookie sixth round pick you have to credit the guy. All this hate he's getting is jealousy.

It sounds crude, but every team wishes they had a player they could pay to consistently hit players in a dirty fashion. Matt Cooke played over 1000 games in the NHL. There are very few players that come around in the current game who play like this. It's a rare player to find.

Brother... your franchise... not the fans, not on a message board, not on twitter... your actual O6 franchise had the audacity to write a letter to the league citing "horrifying acts of violence" and then you cited Matt Cooke lol. Keep that same energy when 10 or 23 gets run through the boards ok?

You’re not going to want him to get suspended regularly and I doubt your team will want to continue to go short handed. He’s young and he has to pick some of his hits just a bit better.

This kid's 15 minutes of fame is up.

Throw the book at him, should be at least 5 games.

He has made numerous runs and dirty hits like this in his short career, injuring players and clearly shows zero remorse. He's injured what 3 players now from bad hits in his 10 games in the NHL?

Could be the fact that he had a linesman bear hugging him but idk. Maybe he should have thrown him to the ground and answered the bell against a bum
Just for clarification, do you think Rempe's not a 'bum'?

He's repeatedly shown that despite being the tallest player on the ice he feels that it's appropriate you crouch down and explode upwards when making a hit.

It’s too bad. He’s actually done some good things and can really skate well for a big guy. The chicken wing is a really awful play, doesn’t matter how big he is, you need to keep the elbow in.

That’s a multi-gamer, no doubt. What a clown.
It should be but he’ll get away with it. Idk how you don’t already report even a phone hearing

I was actually thinking the DoPS had seemed fairly improved this year with regards to obvious head blows.

It's bc their fans applaud a successful dump in, or literally anything not negative he does. It's like when you're in youth hockey and the worst player on your team doesn't completely flub a play the bench goes nuts.
I mean I somewhat get it because these big guys who aren’t great at hockey but fight a lot have been pushed out of the league for the most part so it’s exciting for fans to see one push through on their team.

That honeymoon phase will wear off fairly quickly though once they realize he actually contributes very little on the ice

It's all relative. Compared to Tanner Glass, or some of the other "tough" players Rangers management has forced us to watch over the years, he's not so bad.

Um... So the league says that they are ok with Wilson being Wilson... and everyone except the Rangers were ok with it.

But if the Rangers look at that incident and decide to start playing within the rules that were set fourth by the league's action and inaction... they are villafied?

You know how you know Rempe has no hockey IQ? The Devils were going through the motions and would have happily lost the game quietly. Why stir the pot? Why potentially wake them up? Beyond being fortunate NJ was inept on that PP he’s lucky Smith or MacDermid didn’t cheap shot any of the Rangers and hurt them. The Rangers have a lot to play for this spring. He’s a kid and I’m sure this is still just overwhelming for him and I doubt he would be proud of what he did in a quiet moment. He will have to learn to control himself before he gets some teammates hurt though.

The Matt Rempe experience seems like such an unapologetic freak show…

I dunno that his hit on Steigenthaler is a bug or the whole purpose of why he’s in the NHL at all. Beat up on guys, hurt guys, create a spectacle. He seems to have just taken the enforcer, goon role and just amped it up to new and pointless levels.

2 games Id guess

Objectively head was the main and only point of contact, no last second shifting by Sieg

This one is easy.

May take a few suspensions until he gets it. Wouldnt be the first dude, wont be the last
