not saying he is going to be like Johnny Gaudreau but is that the kind of game Poitras plays with the Storm @DominicT

I`m simply going by both of their physical makeup, I think Poitras is a bit taller

If someone starts a thread on worst skaters ever in a Bruins uniform, Murray’s final year will be my answer.
I see your Glen Murray and raise you one Dan McGillis.
Your move.

Poitras has plenty to focus on in another year in the OHL, primarily: doing everything with faster feet. He's never going to be a high-end skater, but it has to get better. Also, a WJC spot is a huge goal to focus on.

bumping this thread as i'd love to hear thoughts on poitras now that we are a week away
from the season starting. i believe the great @DominicT mentioned poitras was a man on
a mission as far as preparing for this year. he looks like a definite middle 6 guy down the
road, but maybe that road isn't so long.

He has earned atleast his 9 games. And with the center position as it is with this team currently, there is no time like the present to give him a shot. It’s not like we you have center locked up. I think we are expecting a lot of Zacha and Coyle.

What a steal at #54.

I'd love to keep him up here all season IMO the only thing that might cause a problem is hitting the wall physically & mentally because he's not used to playing so many games & against NHL players. At this point sending him back to the OHL seems like a step backwards for him.

Regarding Poitras's 200 foot game, I wasn't the only one last night who noticed his two really bad neutral zone plays within 5-10 seconds of each other, right?

He looks great in the offensive end and I haven't seen egregious errors in his own end, but that was the second game out of four (?) that I saw him short circuit in the neutral zone.

Preseason and he's still a teenager, so this is obviously predictive of absolutely nothing, but maybe something to watch.

He's earned the 9 games. After that? That's up to him and the team.

But he's shown he's not intimidated. He creates. He's got the vision. Great hands.

Impressive

"We've always told the players that if you deserve to be here we're going to make it happen. If you deserve to be in the lineup then you'll be in the lineup."

--Cam Neely at the beginning of camp

If he stays true to his word then there is no way on earth Poitras is not in the opening night lineup.
