If his production wasn’t needed then why was he on the team? That is a contradiction.

Poitras started as the third line center and has been shuffled around.

I would argue Seguin had way more anticipation and expectations than Poitras.

He was the #2 pick, and they felt it would be best for his development to hang around the big team and play 12 min a night. I'm sure the hoped that maybe he would improve as the season went on. He was had 22 points on the season. He was not a key member on that team. And their plan worked as he was very much ready to play and contribute in his second year, unlikely he would have been that ready if he went back to Jr

Now that he is full-time. Its time to tell yourself, “I will not overreact if he slumps mid-season”. Excited to see what a full year in the NHL will look like for Poitras. Lose the Spooner # first.
He’s already had a few really horrible screw ups. Overall though, his game is NHL ready for sure. I expect lots more horrible screw ups, but i hope the confidence continues to grow and he gets more comfortable with the extra attention he’s sure to attract from opponents. There’s still a lot to find out

Bruins rookie Matt Poitras can unpack his bags for good.
Coach Jim Montgomery said Tuesday that the 19-year-old center “is sticking around” with the big club after his de facto nine-game tryout expired with Monday night’s overtime win over the Panthers.
The club needed to make a decision on Poitras — either send him back to his junior team in Guelph, Ontario, or keep him in Boston — after nine games.
Teenagers are not eligible to play in the AHL, so a season of seasoning in Providence was not an option.
“He’s continued to get better on both ends of the ice,” said Montgomery. “But what I think is appealing to us is every time you start to think, well this might be too much, whether it was preseason, night games, he just always finds a way to be like, he belongs. He belongs. He just belongs.”

Potsy can go trick or treating tonight instead of packing up for Guelph. Did anyone else wince when he coughed up the puck on Florida's second goal? I thought he had just about sealed the deal before last night, but you never know.

think the approach is or has to be that the kid is simply going to make mistakes, can/do we as an organization accept that knowing he has the makeup to put those mistakes in the rear view mirror and move on? The kid does, and he does more positive than negative things on the ice. Smart move by the B`s to keep him, really nobody else to play C on that 3rd line who has his creativity and ability to make those around him better

Was my first thought when that happened. Maybe his too judging by the look on his face right after the goal.

Edit: idk why I replied to Joe's post too, unintended.

You would have a better grasp on that more than most here. Curious on who U feel, who would be the ideal person
Someone who is mature and has the room. Someone who is a good teacher in all things.

If Brad has the room, he would be a good choice. I went to one Bs practice (before the preseason games) and noticed Brad on ice coaching Matty P.

Or...maybe someone younger who is responsible.

I really don't think I know more than anyone else here. Just someone who is mature and can help the kid mature as a player and man.
