Apparently bergeron wanted to do the same thing for a young guy and even built a guest house on his property - but something tells me the timing isn’t right

My vote also goes to Carlo, living with a guy like that would keep you structured. Hell I need to stay with Carlo for a few months myself
Same here. Structure is so needed haha.

Yeah I mean it's been like 2 games but if you're looking to just critique something, go off I guess
not a major critique, last few games, made a few nice plays but if you look at some of his goals as an example prior to this pointless streak of, I think 3 games, they come from him getting to the net, he hasn`t done so last few games. Love the kid, seems like he`s been a touch tired last few, B`s need his production, it ain`t like this is an offensive bandwagon here

IMO, it's 100% line mates. He hasn't had very good chemistry (so far) with Marchand or Pasta. The minute they put him on a line with guys like Frederic or Geekie he has the puck the whole shift and is making plays and taking it to the net himself. But when he plays with the big guns he seems to disappear and have trouble finding his place. I don't know if it's chemistry, deferring, or if it's 1st/2nd line matchups, but I think it would be better for his development to play him where he has success so he can grow and gain confidence.

Frederic-Poitras-Geekie 65% CF (shot attempts for/against are 32-17 or 65%)
DeBrusk-Poitras-Geekie 54% CF
Zacha-Poitras-Pasta 44% (less than 50% means they're getting outshot)
March-Poitras-Geekie 33%

i think maybe you're coming to the wrong conclusion. Is it really linemates? or is it matchups? It's more likely that Frederic-Poitras-Geekie can be sheltered and kept away from unfavorable matchups than it is that Geekie is just magically way worse when playing with Brad Marchand.

I did say it could be matchups, but I’m less convinced of that because he did well as the 2c with DeBrusk and Geekie. Marchand was with Pasta during that stretch so he drew 2nd line matchups and was fine.

I’m more inclined to believe it’s either chemistry or he’s deferring. My money is on chemistry. Poitras is a possession guy, it would make sense for him to be more comfortable with guys who are used to playing off the puck. Marchand has the puck a lot. Pasta has the puck a lot… Freddie, on the other hand, is used to playing off a guy who has the puck a lot. DeBrmusk is used to playing off guys who have the puck a lot.

2 straight games with 2 steals. Doesn't sound like much but his 4 steals are as much as all other forwards combined in those 2 games.

Looks like they're penciling Poitras back with Geekie and Freddy and JVR back with Zacha/Pasta.
