Matt Greene doesn't score in the shootout AGAIN, Kings lose 2-1

I'm curious why you guys keep saying this? Typically when I use/hear this phrase it's because the circumstances around the team's play is basically solely under their control to make the playoffs - as was the case prior to this game. As of right now though, that isn't the case. No matter what the Kings do, if Winnipeg and Calgary do better, we're out. So the Kings don't control their own destiny. So I'm curious why you guys interpret it differently?

that's a fallacy

for 1) kings play the flames
and 2) jets play the flames so it's guaranteed that either flames and jets lose 1 game

and if kings win all 3, that would mean that flames would have AT least lost 1 with a possibility of the flames losing 2 or...flames losing 1 and jets losing 1...these are guarantees as long as Kings take care of their own business....so Kings are still in control of their destiny

Its incredible the Kings have only dropped one point in the last three games, and have gained zero ground. What a crazy year.

Nuts. Winnipeg won't lose! I thought they would drop some points either tonight or tomorrow, especially without Buff & Enstrom. Honestly, they deserve a playoff spot. Calgary too. Kings don't even look like they want to be in the post season.

All those blown extra points is coming back to bite them. I can't believe how many shootouts they've gone without scoring a single goal on any attempt. It's downright embarrassing with the skill this team has.

The Calgary game is the first (Must win game of the season). An actually must win, not a fake one.

lol so we can still lose vs Edmonton and hope to make the playoffs by beating CGY & SJ?

jesus guys... because we don't know the outcome of any future games, as it stands...the next 3 games ARE MUST WINS

Well another way to look at is , if the Kings didn't get all those games into OT . Well those are losses with zero points. The Kings would be staring at Lottery pick.

It's not a matter of caring. I know they want to do it but their bodies are shot. That is the thing that really worries me about this team. The spark plug that was Drew Doughty is now burnt out. Completely. Like the spark is gone.

I am amazed that you don't get it.

I am embarrassed to even have to spell this out to you. It's simple math, man.

i could swear you stole that line from a Mighty Ducks movie...can't recall which one though...the one where Emilio Estevez hits the post lol

It really depends on what Calgary and Winnipeg do tomorrow. They both win tomorrow becomes a must win to keep pace. Otherwise all we could do on Thursday is tie Calgary.

ok we need to seriously create a wiki page for the definition of must win lol

15 points just handed away in OT/SO this year. 15.

Hope Sutter takes that cavalier attitude he has about the shootout and shoves it up his ass. "Not taking the shootout seriously" is going to cost the team an embarrassing playoff miss.

Bravo.

No, it doesn't. All we have to do is win out and we are in. Who gives a **** what the other teams do, really?

Just win the **** out. That's it.

Sutter doesn't get on the ice and shoot the puck in shootouts.
