Matt Greene doesn't score in the shootout AGAIN, Kings lose 2-1

What's not to get? It's sports. Long time division/conference rival. Defending champ. Three consecutive conference finals. Sitting in 9th place, the Kings are still a measuring stick, even if the myth around the Kings is maybe a little more potent on a consistent basis than the actual team this year.

I GOT IT, I GOT IT!

I'm not sure if anyone cares so much as just make fun of the seemingly excessive celebration. I was noticing the Kings players watching them intently. Going to be a real interesting first round match-up.

But I thought the Kings were already eliminated?!?

Anyone have a gift of Doughty crushing the boards with that massive hip check? Even as a Kings fan that was kind of hysterical.

Missed him by that much.

Oh man, I was dying. I thought it had to be McNabb, even funnier when it was Doughty. If that doesn't show how exhausted he is I dunno what does

3-15 in OT/SO. Too many points left on the table.

2013/14 NJ Devils = 2014/15 LA Kings.

This mind-boggling incapacity in the OTs and SOs are costing us the playoffs. If only the record was just e.g. 6-12... It's still bad but we'd be 3 pts ahead of Calgary.

PS: I'll never understand why Kopitar always has to shoot from a mile out.

I agree that 'it's still bad' but this team could still do better in the standings than the 2012 Kings. The 2012 Kings won the cup after getting 95 points; this year, someone is going home with 97. It's really crazy.

And after all the daggers we've had to the heart this year, all the 'bad' play, etc....it's taken several teams defying the hell out of their expectations and playing out of their minds to put us in this position. That tells me a few things, but first and foremost, it tells me just how freaking good this team is that they can piss away points left and right with no gas in the tank and injuries/suspensions/distractions causing all sorts of lineup issues the whole way vs. each opponents best every night and still have a shot at the playoffs.

Meh. IF we had Pearson and Voynov fo the entire season we would have more than likely (much more) picked up two more points along the way and be in without a worry. We will be better next season without any doubt to me and in fact I like our potential like up for next season more so than this seasons team. We can still make the playoffs and do a ton of damage. 3 games left and our team has the ability to win outright if they play to their best. If we do end up with 97 points and miss the dance then it will likely be by one point, two at the most. I mean it is unlikely but the Cantnucks could end up with a total of 97 points and in the playoffs too. In the end out of the playoffs to 2nd place in the pacific could end up being the difference of one win or a win and a tie. I am not going to go off and commit hari kari over it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm at ease with whatever happens at this point. Just pointing out for sense of historical perspective since I know it FEELS like we're an 80 point team or something

This season has just been one nightmare after another and we're still very much in the hunt. I don't even know if I can list all the crazy things that have gone wrong this year.
