I wish we were sending Zucc to the all star game instead of McDonagh.

do not disagree. zucc would be a perfect character for such an event with his flarish game and personality however mcdonaga deserves a in season vacation from girardi.

"Just cause the goals haven't been going in for him — he's still one of our best forwards every night," J.T. Miller said. "He brings a 200-foot game and that's why he's the player he is. I think he's doing a lot of good things. Obviously the goals will come. He's not gonna not score like this all year. It was good to see him pop one like that tonight. He's consistently one of our better players and tonight was just another example of that."
So it hasn't mattered very much that Zuccarello is not on pace to approach the career-best 26 goals he scored last season. The right wing's .6 assists and .79 points per game through 48 matches — he's one of four Rangers to play in every game thus far — represent career highs. He recorded a career-high 40 assists during the 2013-14 season, when he had a then-career-high 59 points before reaching 61 last season.
"He's been playing outstanding at both ends of the rink," Alain Vigneault said of Zuccarello. "He's one of our best two-way forwards. Scoring is maybe the final product, but he's set up a lot of guys for goals and he's played real hard at both ends of the rink - getting pucks out of our end, blocking shots when he has to. He's been a real competitor."

Looks a little off. But I don't know when this promo was filmed, so who knows. In the recent Stepan Behind the Mic he didn't look too bad.

True. Does look like Clendening have played recently tho with that bruised eye :amazed: But could of gotten it in practice i suppose. Just weird that they didnt get more makeup. Zucc isnt the only guy who looks really red.

Naaah, no makeup. Hockey players like that look, makes em' look bad ass.

Hes going to end the season with a line of something around 15-50-65 as long as he doesn't get hurt.

Amazing considering that his game was complete ass for a month.

Yeah man, and all this talk about him not scoring goals. Who cares that he's not?
He could score more if he shot more, but definitely at a lesser percentage then when he makes that deft pass for a great goal and a better assist.

I wouldnt be the least surprised if he hits the 70 pt. plateau. Reason? The team around him is more set and stable since the return of our injured. Not having goal scorers like Nash and even Zbad to a lesser extent really hurt his production.
Nasher has missed what?.........12-15 games, yeah thats at least 10 points right there.

I wonder if this was Zucc´s best pass ever in the NHL? Sick.

It´s insane. Zucc waits for Miller to get off the bench and into position.....

I wish JT would have converted. That was a Gretzky like pass.. Zooks is now shooting 80% in 5 shootouts this season.

I wish JT had even gotten a shot off. I missed this game but the postgame thread gets my Norwayjuices flowing.

Its nice to see Hank being a demigod again as well.

Hes had by my count 1 bad game since the New Year.

I didn't love some of the decisions he made with the puck last night but thats being nit picky, he was a beast.

Most of his shots have ZERO chance of going in from where he shoots from ....he is too far away to score on most NHL goalies IMO.....however there are rebounds and he is piling up assists but he won't score many unless he gets at least 5-8 feet closer . Those shots form the top of the circle just don't cut it unless you are one timing them....and it has been a bit since we had somebody that did that on a regular basis with any success .

Our guys as a rule always like to wait a couple of seconds and tee it up first for the picture perfect shot...LOL or at least it seems that way . No wonder we make so many goalies look HOF like .

That is a heat chart right? More shots the darker it gets? Could you produce one that includes blocked shots too? I feel unblocked shot charts gets slightly biased towards close shots as they are harder to block.

Alright I have to ask... How does a chart like this get created? Did someone have to manually plot all of MZA's shots from every game? Who's job is it to record where every shot was taken from during the course of a hockey game, and for every player???

This isnt really all that hard to set up. If you have access to the dataset from for example NHL.com which tracks shot locations, you simply extrapolate the data into a chart of your choosing.

For example this chart as pointed out, the darker the color, the more shots within the region.

Once the queries are set up, the only manual task involved in these charts is writing in the players name into a field box and press export.

I'd like Zooks to look for his own goals more often but with goalies being so good nowadays purposefully shooting for a rebound (or deflection) is a very team oriented way to go.
