Checked the stats and have to say I was a little surprised. Despite not having his best days on the ice, Zucc is only 3 points short of being the top point scorer on the team...

Probably says more about the standard he is being held to rather than his actual quality
In relation to a league average. Zucc on a bad day at the very least isnt a detriment
To the team, he just isnt getting bounces

This year so far compared to last season

The drop off is significant in terms of both shot generation and shot suppression, but he's still pretty good - and the sample size is still kinda small for the 2016 season. It's also worth noting that he generally plays against tougher minutes now than last year.

Good game against Stars. Hope his goal will get him going. Should have had at least two assists on gorgeous passes to Kreider and Stepan.

I think he's actually been pretty good. The advanced stats say he should be fine except that in on-ice shooting percentage is crazy low. Bad luck, nothing more.

Another solid permorance against the Preds. Looks like he is starting to get his play back. Nice SO goal to win the game.

Really liking how Zucc his getting his game back. Brilliant pass to Kreids on his goal, and another beauty of an SO-goal. And all ind all another solid performance. Hope he keeps it up.

And considering all the whining about him that has been going on lately its refreshing to see he has 21 points. Only 2 behind Hayes who is our current point leader.

Would still move him for a quality RHD.

He is 2nd on the team in points and on pace for over 58 points. I'd like him to shoot more but i'm never going to complain about a undrafted free agent with production like that on his 3rd bargain contract.

I am going to just think this is just wanting to critize something, anything, anyone. Zucc has played really well lately and even when he was not he was not hurting his team much, if at all. His goals will come when they come. He has 85 shots so far this season, over 38 games played. Hayes has 64 shots, Miller 70. To compare it to some people. Zucc has always been a pass first kind of guy, and he still puts up third most shots on the team. Nash has more with less games played, Stepan has 88 with the same amount of games.

So please, stop saying he doesnt shoot enough. Stats say otherwise. His shooting% is just lower then almost every other F on the team at 9.4%

Ps. Meaning that when you shoot goals will come, and they will. He's just been unlucky. He has hit the post and crossbar several times in the last few games.

Yeah true - I think he will be hard to replace him in his position, because he is kind of unique player in NHL. I don`t know maybe move him for an elite RD - so hard decision, glad I am not the GM if they plans to move him before end of this season.
My point is I love Zucc, but he start to get older and soon 30, and Rangers policy recently is to get younger - so hard to guess what will happen in the next summer window. Will they move Nash or Zucc, or perhaps buyout G contract, or maybe he surprise us all in this year playoffs and perform above expectations. So many questions and hard to guess the future!

Please quote where I said he doesn't shoot enough, because I didn't say that.

I said he needs to score goals. And he does.

That said, he's been very good lately. Which is great, because he was awful for a long stretch. Nice to see his game picking up. He and Stepan/Kreider have been money.

Our big man is now:

Tied for 9th in the league in assists
2nd in the league in 5 on 5 assists (McDavid is #1)
Has the most assists in the NHL since Dec 18th.

I'm worried about last nights cheap hit. Zooks was laboring to skate in the 3rd period. I hope its just a deep bruise.

Wow yeah impressive stats. No one should really be getting on him too hard for not scoring goals. He is doing everything else and putting up points. If Kreider and Stepan tally the goals on that line, then its all good. He was right back out there after that knee hit, so hopefully with a couple of days off he'll be fine.

If its just a muscle bruise, it will be at its worst tomorrow. Hopefully he wont be so stiff he cant skate
