Stop dicking him around, the most doltish management imaginable...and I lived through Ballard.
Just can Bruce.

Yeo would be the better bet now.

Bedard should put the jersey over his arm.

I can't believe any sane qualified person would take any sort of job with the Nucks right now. Not until ownership and management clean up all this nonsense and come up with a clear direction of the team.

Rick Tocchet BADLY wants to be an NHL coach again it seems and doesn't care into what kind of situation he steps in.

So all this terrible treatment of Boudreau to bring in Rick Tocchet to do what ? Save their season ? Like come on if the best option externally to replace your coaching staff midseason is Rick Tocchet is that really worth this kind of bad PR the Canucks are getting now ?

The Canucks organization's treatment of Boudreau is disgusting. Setting aside that Boudreau is one of the more likable NHL personalities, if you're going to fire him then fire him. That they're doing the PR equivalent of leaving a man hanging by a rope is just gross.

Between this and all the leaks, the front office looks awful.

And the media availability ended with them laughing at him like it's a joke..

This is completely unprofessional. I get that these guys are paid handsomely but they are still people and don't deserve to be treated like shit by being strung along and being put out infront of the press like that where they have to answer questions on their quickly approaching termination. Juat disgusting and Canuck management should be ashamed with themselves.

Canucks fan here:

Im so embarrassed to cheer for this organization right now. They've handled this so poorly on every front. Absolutely pathetic and a massive L for the entire Canucks organization. Clowns

This cruel and malicious.

If Vancouver wanted a tank commander so bad they could have found one they didn’t have to wait four weeks for, make Bruce twist in the wind and become an even bigger embarrassment

They might as well have just fired him, appointed an interim coach from the staff and announced a search for the permanent coach, voila Tocchet comes in four weeks later without the bread and circuses of whatever the hell THIS is

This is a disgrace to someone who by most accounts is a great guy. If you are an in-demand coach who has options, why would you ever take a meeting with Aquelini after this. I'm sure they will find people with less options who want to be coaches, but if pay is similar and you have no particular attachment to Vancouver, why would you take the job. You don't treat employees like this, and if you do, you sure as hell don't do it publicly.

Maybe the Sens’ next guy. His family lives in the area and he would have probablt been hired in 2016 if Melnyk didn’t cheap out.
I think his family is pretty much entirely Toronto based. He's talked openly about how his mom still cheers for the Leafs, and he still supports them unless they are playing the team he's coaching (grew up a fan, was developed in the Leafs system, etc). It would give him more road games in Toronto than a Western team, but not particularly convenient to visit his elderly mom often, Buffalo might be a better option on that front if its an option, and even then NHL coaches really don't have the dead time to drive two hours.

Its not even that he's a lame duck coach, its that they've been basically teasing replacing him since they got hired last season and wont stop talking about/allowing leaks to get out about replacing him.

Like if they know he's not their guy, why did they not just move on weeks ago and let the assistant take over until Tochett became available?

Bizarre and beyond unprofessional

The Canucks org is a joke. The absolute disrespect.

No matter what, you can’t help but feel bad for BB. He obviously loves what he does tremendously and to send him out like this is embarrassing on all levels.

IIRC, he was interviewed in 2016 and made it to the final stages before scoffing at the offer and jumping to Minny where he was given more term and $$

Maybe things can be different now with different ownership though
