Proposal: Marner for Lindholm

I'd rather have Lindholm and I'm a Kings fan, we never compliment ducks.... There was play last year that Lindholm made Kopitar look silly on the Ducks PP. I'll try to find the clip.

Lou wouldn't hesitate trading Marner if it meant he was getting back a 22 year old number 1 defenseman. Leafs fans are being ridiculous.

Except there is the suggestion that the leafs would have to give up Marner ++.

I think the current regime is gonna be patient with the rookies, especially one that has been the leafs best player thus far

Since when does 2 games anoint a player as a generational superstar? Some of you need to look up small sample size and re-think your analysis, Marner is not more valuable than Mathews, he is not worth Mcjeesus (My god!) and he is not better than Eichel, not at this point and there is no reason to think he will be. All of those players are looked at as generational especially Mcjeesus, I have never heard anybody except for leafs fans on here say other wise, kinda telling.

Having said that I can see why Leafs fans are so excited about this player and why they don't want to trade him, especially considering your teams history of trading away blue chippers, but come on guys, Lindholm is absolutely worth more than Marner, right now. This is coming from someone who hates both teams. Neither team does this.

uhh that leaf fan (me) was responding to a Helm for Rielly joke proposal with an equally ridiculous proposal. but yeah that guy clearly took it the wrong way

I like how Larkin was our best forward last year (and our best after two games last season) yet would need multitle pluses for Rielly, yet Marner is worth more than an even better D in Lindholm.

id put marner above larkin. and i wouldnt move rielly for larkin. so there is that

Marner is underrated by fans of other teams because he was drafted by the leafs and he was in a draft with McDavid and Eichel. IMO, Marner is the 4th best player from the last two drafts, and in a lot of drafts he would go #1 or #2.

I think in a few months this will be pretty obvious to everyone.

Forget the last few drafts, there are few players in the last decade who see the ice the way Marner does. This guy is on another level than Strome, Nylander, Connor. Why is Toronto trading one of their big prospects for another LH top pairing defenseman when they already have one?

As a Kings fan, you take Lindholm. Is he Doughty? NO, but will he be top 10 for quite some time? Yes, and that is more value than Marner. Only Mathews has more value than Lindholm on either team.

last year there were only 4 forwards with 80+ pts. If marner becomes a top 5 scorer lindholm still is worth more? the kid is good but he isnt doughty

You havent understood that before now? Thats what its all about. Would be resigned a long time ago if they had cap space to do it. He is a legit top pair defensemen and he is 22. He is closer to Ekblad than guys like Trouba, Rielly, Risto etc. Im not a Ducks fan but watch them alot and Lindholm is an extremely effective player!
